Do you know your ABCs? You will after this voyage along the coast of Central and South America. Departing the beautiful colonial city of Cartegena in Colombia, we hop between Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao – the ABC islands. Our first encounter is with Willemstad, in Curaçao, to explore the kaleidoscopic world within its coral reef, followed by Kralendijk in Bonaire, a good spot to discover more about these islands’ Dutch colonial past, and Oranjestad in Aruba, to embrace nature in the Arikok National Park. There is more nature to enjoy at Tayrona Natural National Park on our next stop, Santa Marta, on the Colombian coast. Now we relax at sea for a day, bound for the exciting experience of cruising the Panama Canal, one of the great man-made wonders of the world. At Fuerte Amador, gateway to Panama City, take the chance to see the great Miraflores locks through which the ships squeeze onto this narrow waterway. Our final port of call is Puerto Caldera on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

Cartagena, Colombia

Cartagena, Colombia picture
A kaleidoscope of color, rich in cultural heritage and old-world charm. Find Spanish colonial architecture, lively music, and mouth-watering cuisine. She is celebrated as the queen of the Caribbean coast, and given the shimmering lagoons, bays and stunning sea that surround her, it's easy to see why. Cartagena's beautifully preserved Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with winding alleys, vibrant displays of architecture and iconic churches. Explore islands offshore, swim in the crystalline waters, and be sure to sample the ceviche!

Willemstad, Curaçao

dec 04, 2026

7:00 AM - 8:00 PM

7 EXCURSIONS

Willemstad, Curaçao picture
Willemstad, the capital of Curacao, is characterized by story-book Dutch architecture, waterfront promenades, fine shopping and a colorful floating market. Located in the southern Caribbean, just 38 miles north of Venezuela, a harmonious blend of Dutch, Caribbean, African and South American cultures makes Willemstad unique among the Caribbean ports of call.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

dec 05, 2026

8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

8 EXCURSIONS

Kralendijk, Bonaire picture
The `B` of Netherlands Antilles' ABC islands (with Aruba and Curaçao), Bonaire is the easternmost of the three. A small island – but at 112 square miles the middle-sized of the ABCs – and generally flat, it features some of the best beaches in the Antilles, huge wildlife reserve areas and year-round sunshine. The charming beachside town of Kralendijk fits snugly into the leeward curve of the island. This capital of Bonaire features the ABC islands' signature pastel-colored buildings and old Dutch homes, reminders of the `home country.` Sights include a colorful boat harbor and fish market, historical Fort Orange, the Old Fort museum, jewelry and duty-free shops, plus a pretty main square shaded by mimosa trees and surrounded by brightly colored flowers.

Oranjestad, Aruba, Aruba

dec 06, 2026

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

8 EXCURSIONS

Oranjestad, Aruba, Aruba picture
Aruba is a long, narrow island, located just 15 miles from Venezuela's coast, with a dry and sunny climate year-round. Its distinctive beauty lies in the stark contrast between the sea and its countryside. Next to arid deserts, which host an array of wild rock formations, curiously bent divi-divi trees and cactus jungles, are magnificent beaches that shelve into transparent blue waters. Combining Dutch efficiency and Caribbean charm, Aruba has become one of the most popular playgrounds in the Caribbean, boasting sophisticated resorts and casinos.

Santa Marta, Colombia

dec 07, 2026

9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Santa Marta, Colombia picture
Fancy lounging on a picture-perfect Caribbean beach? Then Santa Marta is for you. Colombia's oldest founded city not only has popular swathes of sand on its doorstep, but it's just a short drive from the Tayrona National Park, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The setting is sublime, with gin-clear waters lapping pristine beaches that are backed by palm trees and lush vegetation. Back in Santa Marta, while much of the colonial heritage has long been swept away, you can still visit the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, where the revolutionary leader Simon Bolivar drew his last breath.

Fuerte Amador, Panama picture
Fuerte Amador, the gateway port to Panama City, seamlessly merges history and culture while captivating the hearts of travelers the world over. The nearby Miraflores Locks Visitor Center narrates the engineering marvel of the Panama Canal, reflecting the nation's global significance, while the strategic location also provides access to the UNESCO-listed Casco Viejo district. However, visitors to Fuerte Amador would be remiss not to make the short, 8-mile, trip into Panama City.
