Dubai - Fort Lauderdale

8 countries
21 ports
Our first port of call on this epic adventure is colorful Cartagena, Colombia. Cruising the Panama Canal brings us to Puntarenas on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, and then to Nicaragua, where you can watch the surfing at San Juan del Sur. Sample Acajutla’s famous coffee, before we enter Mexico for the blond-sand beaches of Puerto Vallarta. Returning to the U.S., we come to California, stopping at sunny San Diego, the snorkeling hotspot of Santa Catalina, and buzzy San Francisco, before heading north to Oregon and forest-fringed Astoria. Canada offers up the cool cosmopolitan capital of British Columbia, Victoria, the arty harbor town of Nanaimo, and the bustling metropolis of Vancouver. Sailing through the Seymour Narrows to Alaska, we arrive at the fishing harbor of Ketchikan, followed by Alaska’s cultured capital, Juneau, and Skagway, famous for its Gold Rush-era buildings. Witness the unforgettable spectacle of the Hubbard Glacier as we come to the formerly Russian-ruled city of Sitka and then Klawok, a significant Tlingit settlement. Then it’s back to Victoria, and our journey’s end in Vancouver.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

jun 17, 2028

5:00 AM - 5:00 PM

1 EXCURSION

Puntarenas, Costa Rica picture
Once the center of Costa Rica's coffee-exporting boom, Puntarenas sits on a slender spit of sand that snakes into the Pacific Ocean. Still a working port, home to a charming blend of colonial buildings, chatty street vendors, and a must-visit market selling tropical fruit and handmade souvenirs, this place packs a punch. Ticos, as Costa Ricans are known, flock here to soak up the laid-back beachfront atmosphere and stroll along the promenade. The place is famed for its fresh seafood, and traditional dishes include zesty lime-drenched ceviche, best sampled at the family-run sodas, or restaurants, that line the old dock.

San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Anchor

San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua picture
San Juan del Sur, on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, woos travelers and surfers alike with its colorful, 19th-century clapboard houses and crescent of silver sand. Once a sleepy fishing village, it's now a party town, watched over by Cristo de la Misericordia, a towering statue of Christ – hike to it up the hillside or, for a less strenuous walk, just go as far as the peach-and-white San Juan Bautista church. Microbreweries and fancy fish restaurants have joined the easygoing surf joints recently, meaning there are more spots to sip a cool craft beer or savor fresh fish tacos as the sky turns from blue to pink.

Santa Catalina Island, United States Of America

jun 26, 2028

7:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Anchor

Santa Catalina Island, United States Of America picture
Pleasure is paramount in Santa Catalina, just off the coast of Los Angeles, which gained cachet when moguls and movie stars started hanging out here – Marilyn Monroe owned a property on the island. Landmarks including the casino remain from early efforts to turn Santa Catalina into a resort, and there's also a curious legacy of the island's double life as a frequent location for filming – the bison that roam its pastures were brought here as extras for a film that never even made the cutting-room floor. Yet this resolutely American playground feels Mediterranean rather than West Coast, as you'll see on arrival in the port of Avalon, which is more Monte Carlo than Malibu.

Astoria's natural beauty is as renowned as its history, with its `Little San Francisco” character set against the steep, wooded hillsides of a temperate rain forest.
