Our 10-night voyage begins with two culture-filled days in Fuerte Amador, near Panama City, where you can explore the charismatic Casco Viejo district and spot monkeys at the Parque Natural Metropolitano. Next comes the thrilling experience of cruising the Panama Canal, one of the great man-made wonders of the world, before we reach Puerto Limón, Costa Rica, to explore the wildlife-rich Tortuguero Canals. A relaxing day at sea takes us to Roatán in Honduras – this tiny island has the second-biggest coral reef in the world – then over to Santo Tomás de Castilla in Guatemala, home to a 17th-century Spanish fortress, and Belize City, to discover ancient Maya ruins and remnants of colonial rule. Now we cross to Mexico for Cozumel, famed for its powder sands and duty-free shops, and a day in Progreso on the Yucatán Peninsula, for tequilas on the malecón and souvenirs in the handicrafts market. A day drifting across the turquoise Caribbean brings us to our final port, lively Fort Lauderdale.

Panama Canal Transit, Panama

mar 22, 2029

6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Sailing through the legendary Panama Canal, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, brings to life the incredible potential of human achievement. Connecting the Pacific Ocean with the Caribbean Sea, this engineering icon, which began operating in 1914, raises ships 85 feet above sea level to Gatun Lake, then lowers them at the other end. While traversing the Panama Canal, keep an eye out for monkeys and sloths in the lush surrounding jungle.

03.

Puerto Limón, Costa Rica

mar 23, 2029

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Situated on Costa Rica's tropical Caribbean coast, Puerto Limón is an excellent base from which to visit the coral reefs of Cahuita National Park, the wildlife-rich lagoons of Tortuguero National Park, or even the nearby beaches Playa Piuta and Playa Bonita. But the quaint port town itself is well worth exploring if you have a few hours to spare. Stop by the bustling Mercado Municipal to stock up on local snacks and fresh fruit (Limón is the heart of Costa Rica's banana industry), before enjoying your bounty in Parque Balvanero Vargas, a leafy oasis with a Neoclassical bandstand and sloths lounging in the trees.

Roatan Island, Honduras

mar 25, 2029

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

The largest of Honduras' Bay Islands, Roatán Island is a veritable paradise plucked straight from a storybook. Surrounded by the dazzling, biodiversity-rich Mesoamerican Barrier Reef – the second largest in the world – it's a renowned destination for scuba divers and snorkelers. There's plenty to do on land, too: experience the island's rich Garifuna culture in the historic village of Punta Gorda, encounter free-roaming wildlife and zipline through lush tropical jungle in Gumbalimba Park, and sample delicious local cuisine such as tapado, a traditional Honduran seafood soup.

06.

Santo Tomas, Guatemala

mar 26, 2029

8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

The adventurous at heart won't be able to resist what lies in store at this port on Guatemala's Caribbean coast. It's the gateway to nature hikes, waterfall swims, boat rides, and bird-watching – more than 400 species, including toucans, inhabit the surrounding rainforest. Plus, there's deep history to delve into, with tours of the Mayan ruins at Quiriguá and the Spanish fort of Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, as well as performances of Punta music and dance by the Garifuna people. Don't forget to pick up crafts by local artisans at Puerto Barrios market, they are must-have souvenirs.

07.

Belize City, Belize

mar 27, 2029

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Anchor

Between the world's second largest coral-reef system and a hinterland of hundreds of Mayan temples, sits Belize City. Here, there is history to explore in Fort George District, at Belize Museum, the Cathedral, and House of Culture, contemporary art at the Image Factory, and you might catch a Garífuna band at the Bliss Centre. Plus, you must buy a bottle of Belizean Marie Sharp's world-famous hot sauce for a souvenir. But the prospect of white sands and snorkeling with stingrays at nearby Goff's Caye, or exploring the Mayans' creations at Xunantunich, Caracol, and Lamanai will tempt you further afield.

08.

Cozumel, Mexico

mar 28, 2029

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Ease into island life on Cozumel. Situated on Mexico's scenic Yucatán Peninsula, it serves as a gateway to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the largest reef system in the Americas and a biodiversity hotspot that supports a dazzling array of coral and hundreds of tropical fish species. If snorkeling or diving don't appeal, soak up the sun on white-sand beaches or get lost in Mayan mysteries with a visit to the ruins of San Gervasio, once a significant site of worship of the goddess Ixchel. When hunger strikes, you can't go wrong with island favorites like tamales, shrimp tacos, and citrusy ceviche.

09.

Progreso (Mérida), Mexico

mar 29, 2029

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Mexico is no stranger to beautiful beaches but Progreso offers something a little bit special – its pier is the longest in the world, extending for four miles into the Gulf of Mexico. Its warm, shallow waters and golden sands may tempt you to stay here for a few hours, soaking up the tropical vibe, but it's worth rousing yourself to visit one of the many sights within easy reach of Progreso. The magnificent Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá are a two-hour drive away, the site of Uxmal is one-and-a-half hours away, while in just 30 minutes you can visit the Laguna Rosado (pink lake) with its resident flamingos plus the small but impressive Mayan ruins of Xtampú and Xcambó.
