Copenhagen - Liverpool

9 countries
12 ports
We leave behind the pastries and panoramas of Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, for Leixões, to enjoy a drop of the local port wine. A day at sea brings us to Spain and the elegant city of Santander, framed by mountains and beaches, then we cross into French waters, calling at St Jean de Luz to visit the church where Louis XIV married the Infanta Maria Theresa of Spain in 1660. Next, we spend three days in Bordeaux to explore its culture, food, architecture, and, of course, legendary wines. Another sea day takes us to England’s shores, calling at the Isle of Portland off Weymouth, and then Southampton, for maritime heritage. Next comes the Belgian seaside town of Zeebrugge; vibrant Rotterdam, the Netherlands’ second-largest city with a tasty food scene; and Hamburg, where you can enjoy two days discovering its museums, architecture and cool cafés. Another day at sea brings a chance to enjoy our onboard spa and restaurants before we arrive in Oslo, the Norwegian capital. Finally, we come to the fairytale city of Copenhagen, with its historic palaces, castles, and churches.

Itinerary

01.

Lisbon, Portugal

jun 27, 2026

departure 7:00 PM

From Moorish walls and Manueline carvings to elaborate azulejo tiles and Gothic arches – the traces of Lisbon's rich history can be seen and felt simply by wandering its storied (and rather hilly) streets. But Europe's second-oldest city is also one of its most cosmopolitan, and amid historic landmarks like Jerónimos Monastery and São Jorge Castle, you'll find chic rooftop bars with views across red terracotta rooftops and the sparkling Tagus river, design-led concept stores selling artisanal souvenirs, and stylish restaurants serving up inventive takes on local ingredients.

02.

Oporto (Leixões), Portugal

jun 28, 2026

8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

11 EXCURSIONS

This picturesque city is popular for its colorful tile-decorated buildings, its many hills and the iconic bridges by the Douro River. For an authentic Portuguese experience, go to the Ribeira neighborhood and cross the Dom Luis I bridge to watch the magical sunset among the locals.

Santander, Spain

jun 30, 2026

8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

6 EXCURSIONS

Take a tip from the Spanish and head to Santander. They flock to this Cantabrian city to lounge on the long golden beaches, admire its Belle Époque mansions and gracious parks, and promenade along the waterfront Paseo de Pereda. This is a festival city, the 10-day Semana Grande in July being one of the best, and home of the arts center Centro Botín, designed by Renzo Piano. Then, of course, there is the food; Santander's bars serve some of the region's best pinchos, tiny tapas of tasty morsels served on a crunchy slices of baguette – anchovy fillets preserved in oil are among the local favorites.

11 EXCURSIONS

With its huge sweep of sandy beach and charming painted houses overlooking the sheltered waters of a natural bay, Saint-Jean-de-Luz appears at first glance to be a sleepy port – but delve deeper and you'll discover there's more to it. This French Basque town just a short hop from Spain was once the domain of plucky privateers and weathered whale hunters, earning it the nickname `nest of vipers`, while its elegant 17th-century buildings are testament to the wealth of the ship-owners who made their fortunes here. Today, it's a lively fishing port with many interesting landmarks, including the church where Louis XIV married Maria Theresa in 1660, thereby uniting France and Spain.

Portland, United Kingdom

jul 06, 2026

7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

10 EXCURSIONS

The south coast of Britain keeps a long sandy leash on this isle in the English Channel. That strip of sand is Chesil Beach, part of the Jurassic Coast, an impressive array of rocks, landforms and fossils listed by UNESCO as the only place in the world to reveal 185 million years of geological history in one place. Just a few square miles in size, this almost-island is a quiet cluster of communities best known for its headland Portland Bill – with no less than three lighthouses – and the creamy white stone quarried here, used in the construction of some of Britain's greatest buildings, including the Tower of London.
