Setting sail from Fort Lauderdale, we ease into this 15-night voyage with two relaxing days at sea. Cartagena in Colombia, famous for its UNESCO-listed historic Walled City, is our first port of call, then Colón in Panama, gateway to the Panama Canal’s Atlantic entrance, which offers excellent duty-free shopping. We sail the legendary Panama Canal to reach Corinto in Nicaragua, where you can visit a banana plantation and rum distillery, before calling at Puerto Quetzal in Guatemala, gateway to the colonial city of Antigua. Some more time at sea offers the opportunity to relax in the spa, try your hand at pickleball, or practice your golf swing, before the shores of Mexico come into view. Relax on the white sands of Puerto Vallarta and watch whales off the coast of Cabo San Lucas. Another day at sea brings us to Ensenada, a culinary hub with a hinterland of wineries, and we end our journey in buzzy Los Angeles, entertainment capital of the world.

04.

Cartagena, Colombia

dec 07, 2028

10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Lose yourself in the beautiful chaos of Cartagena, where layers of cultural influence intersect to create a city rich in character. The walled Old Town – established in the 16th century and now a UNESCO World Heritage site – is best explored on foot. Stop by a street stall for fresh lulo juice before setting off to explore the labyrinthine streets, filled with shady plazas, ornate former mansions, and balconies overflowing with flowers. Just outside the historic walls, you'll find the colorful neighborhood of Getsemaní, where vivid murals adorn the facades of shops and galleries, and salsa music wafts from lively bars.

05.

Colon, Panama

dec 08, 2028

11:00 AM - 11:59 PM

Experience Panama in Colón, a city with a rich blend of culture, history, and natural beauty where visitors can discover what makes this corner of the world unique. From the building of the Panama Railroad in 1849, followed by the digging of the Panama Canal in 1881 (completed 1914), the history of Colon is punctuated by years of construction to facilitate travel. The impressive Gatun Locks and Gatun Dam – where ships enter and exit the canal on the Caribbean side – are just six miles south of this city named for Christopher Columbus. The Zona Libre, or Free Zone, established in 1948, is the second largest free-trade zone in the world.

06.

Panama Canal Transit, Panama

dec 09, 2028

6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Sailing through the legendary Panama Canal, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, brings to life the incredible potential of human achievement. Connecting the Pacific Ocean with the Caribbean Sea, this engineering icon, which began operating in 1914, raises ships 85 feet above sea level to Gatun Lake, then lowers them at the other end. While traversing the Panama Canal, keep an eye out for monkeys and sloths in the lush surrounding jungle.

08.

Corinto, Nicaragua

dec 11, 2028

9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Nicaragua's busiest Pacific port, Corinto is the perfect jumping-off point for some of the region's most exciting attractions. Take a trip to Léon, famed for its colonial architecture, revolutionary history, and volcano-based activities. Climb to the top of the vast, whitewashed cathedral – the biggest in Central America – to walk among the domes and soak up incredible views, and visit the Museum of the Revolution, where former Sandinista fighters bring the turbulent era to life. This is volcano country, offering the chance to try thrilling volcano boarding on the Cerro Negro or a scenic hike up El Hoyo. Further adventures can be had by 4x4 – visit a mountain coffee plantation, then stop to admire the San Jacinto Mud Pots, bubbling pools and steaming fumaroles surrounded by the lushest vegetation.

09.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

dec 12, 2028

10:00 AM - 8:00 PM

With its ancient Mayan ruins, smoking volcanos, and rainforest-meets-reef coastline, it's little wonder that Guatemala is beloved by travelers, offering all the Central American charm with fewer crowds than its busier neighbors. Puerto Quetzal is its largest Pacific port and has a thriving fishing scene – you can take a charter boat out to search for marlin, mahi-mahi, tuna, and more in the deep blue, nutrient-rich waters. You can also shop for souvenirs in the artisan market right in the cruise terminal, including traditional Guatemalan textiles, jade jewelry, and ‘worry dolls'. A trip to the 16th-century town of Antigua is well worth the 90-minute drive. Located in the beautiful central highlands and encircled by volcanos, this former capital has been rebuilt many times following earthquakes, fire, and floods. A stroll around its streets reveals the ruins of its previous incarnations alongside well-preserved examples of Spanish colonial architecture.

With its sandy beaches, jungle trails, and clear waters rich with marine life, the sun-soaked beach town is a hit with outdoor enthusiasts. It's also a thriving cultural hub: don't miss a visit to the vibrant, LGBTQ+-friendly Zona Romántica, where the cobblestoned streets are lined with quaint boutiques, independent art galleries, and taco stands.
