Discover the French-British heritage of Basseterre, Saint Kitts, before glamorous Gustavia in St. Barts beckons. San Juan, capital of Puerto Rico, brings colorful cobblestone streets, then it’s back to Gustavia for excellent people watching. We’ll head to lively Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe; historic Kingstown on the island of St. Vincent; Scarborough in Tobago, home to the 18th-century Fort King George; and Iles du Salut for Devil’s Island, a fascinating former penal colony. Grand Turk, Turks And Caicos Islands

jan 21, 2029

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Switching off comes easily on Grand Turk. The paradisiacal capital of the Turks and Caicos archipelago offers an authentic and unhurried Caribbean experience, where snorkeling, sunbathing, and strolling the sleepy town are the only orders of the day. Should you wish to up the activity ante, embark on an exhilarating off-road adventure around the island or interact with friendly stingrays on a snorkeling excursion.

04.

Samana, Dominican Republic

jan 22, 2029

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Anchor

White sands melting into turquoise waters, coconut palms swaying in the breeze; Samana is a tropical vision brought to life. You might be seduced into just lounging beneath a banana-leaf sunshade or snorkeling amid the clownfish, yet there's more to this peninsula. Watch humpback whales breaching the waves between January and March, ride on a horse to see the cascading El Limón waterfall, or admire the ancient petroglyphs created by the Taíno people in Los Haitises National Park. Whatever you choose, make time, too, to head to a bar on the Malecon and listen to the rhythms of merengue music.

05.

Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands

jan 23, 2029

10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Anchor

Great Harbor, a softly sweeping indentation on the south side of the island of Jost Van Dyke, treats visitors to an eyeful of tropical loveliness before they even step foot on shore. But step ashore you must. The crescent-shaped beach that lines the harbor is the stuff of postcards, with its swaying palm trees, sugar-white sand, and calm, crystalline waters – perfect for swimming or snorkeling. Beyond the bay you'll find rustic, characterful shops and eateries, including legendary island mainstays like Christine's Bakery, which serves fresh breads and sticky buns, and Foxy's, one of the best-known beach bars in the Caribbean.

06.

St. John`s, Antigua And Barbuda

jan 24, 2029

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

St. John's is the compact, colorful capital of twin-island nation Antigua and Barbuda and an ideal base for exploring all that the islands have to offer. Step off the ship straight into the heart of the action: wander bustling markets; admire pretty, pastel-hued buildings; and discover historic sites like the neo-Baroque St. John's Cathedral and the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, housed in the 18th-century Old Court House. Many of Antigua's beaches are within easy reach of St. John's, so take your pick. Dickenson Bay is a hit with swimmers and snorkelers for its calm, clear waters, while the powdery sands of Runaway Beach are perfect for more secluded relaxation.

07.

Basseterre, St Kitts And Nevis

jan 25, 2029

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Basseterre is the compact coastal capital of the Caribbean island St. Kitts, where verdant hills and sugar-white sands meet architectural artefacts of French and British colonial rule. The town center is anchored by Independence Square – formerly Pall Mall Square – an 18th-century plaza with an ornate fountain and lush lawn, while nearby, the Georgian-inspired Circus is modeled after London's own Piccadilly. Venture just beyond the city to explore the UNESCO-listed Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, an 18th-century British-built fortress that offers sweeping views and serves as a striking reminder of the island's layered history.

08.

Gustavia, French West Indies

jan 26, 2029

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Anchor

The pretty, red-roofed harbor town of Gustavia is the beating heart of stylish St. Barts. High-end boutiques, ritzy restaurants, and iconic cocktail bars pepper the palm-fringed streets, while mere minutes from the town center, you'll find pristine stretches of sand and sparkling waters. Take your pick from dozens of beaches: Anse de Flamands presents camera-ready scenery, Baie de St-Jean has chic beachside bistros, and Anse du Grand Cul-de-Sac is a snorkeler's paradise. Just don't be surprised if you encounter an A-lister or two – the French-speaking Caribbean island has long been the preferred playground of billionaires and big-name movie stars.

09.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

jan 27, 2029

6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Puerto Rico's capital makes a strong impression – even before you arrive on shore. Sailing into the harbor, keep an eye out for El Morro, a 16th-century citadel and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Castillo San Cristobal, a fearsome fortress built to scare away invaders, and La Fortaleza, the impressive official residence of the Governor of Puerto Rico. Once ashore, step back in time along cobbled streets and through squares flanked by pastel-colored Spanish colonial buildings. Or take your pick of beaches – will it be the golden-sanded Isla Verde, the snorkeler-approved El Escambrón, or the laid-back Ocean Park? Just don't leave San Juan without sampling a piña colada (or two) – the tropical cocktail was invented here in the 1950s.

10.

11.

Pointe-a-Pitre, French West Indies

jan 29, 2029

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The lively French-Caribbean city of Pointe-à-Pitre sits at the heart of the butterfly-shaped Guadeloupe archipelago. Beautiful beaches, turquoise lagoons, and lush jungle are a short drive from the port, but it's worth carving some time out to explore the pulsing center. Stroll the narrow streets to discover bold murals and colorful Creole houses; visit the famous Saint-Antoine Market for punchy spices and heady aromas; sample local cuisine like accras (salt cod fritters) and ti' punch (a traditional rum cocktail); and admire the distinctive yellow façade of the 19th-century Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul.

12.

Kingstown, St Vincent And Grenadines

jan 30, 2029

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

A gem-like strand of 32 islands, of which only nine are inhabited, St. Vincent and the Grenadines is among the most idyllic and least touristy of all the Caribbean island nations. At 18 miles long, St. Vincent is the largest isle, regarded for its black-sand beaches and sky-blue waters - paradise for leisure sailors and a wonderland for scuba divers and snorkelers. The imposing, still-active La Soufriere volcano and its surrounding waterfalls and rainforest make St. Vincent a haven for eco-adventures with exceptional hiking trails and a spectacular Botanical Garden - the Caribbean's oldest. In the capital city of Kingstown, cobblestone streets lined with arched stone doorways and magnificent churches recall both French and British colonization, as Fort Charlotte overlooks the city from its perch 600 feet above the sea.

13.

Scarborough, Trinidad And Tobago

jan 31, 2029

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

From its gorgeous beaches and colorful marine life to its lush rainforest interior, tiny Tobago is the quintessential, picturesque Caribbean island; and it is a world apart from bigger, brasher Trinidad with which it forms a twin-nation. Tobago's sleepy capital Scarborough is a place for gentle ambling; take in the Scarborough Botanical Gardens whose 17 acres feature orchids, silk-cotton trees and vibrant bromeliads; and visit Fort King George, built by the British in 1777, beautifully maintained and offering expansive sea views. Then explore further afield. About eight miles wide and 30 long, the island is easy to get around by bus or taxi. To the west is Pigeon Point with one of the most renowned beaches; to the north is equally striking Stonehaven Bay. Follow hiking trails in the lush forests; join a tour of Tobago Cocoa plantation; enjoy a glass-bottomed boat ride to vibrant Buccoo Reef.

Iles du Salut (Devil`s Island), French Guiana

feb 02, 2029

8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Anchor

Off the coast of French Guiana lies a small volcanic archipelago of three palm-covered islands. Their name, Iles du Salut, or Salvation Islands, belies a sinister history. In the 19th and 20th centuries, they were transformed into one of the world's most notorious penal colonies, a brutal purgatory for France's criminal class. The most infamous of the trio is the tiny Ile du Diable – Devil's Island – where political prisoners including Alfred Dreyfus were held captive, surrounded by shark-infested waters. These days, the island is inaccessible due to its rocky and hazardous shoreline, but visitors can explore Ile Royale, the largest of the Iles du Salut, which houses a historic prison complex and offers views across the water to the legendary Devil's Island.

Fortaleza, Brazil

feb 05, 2029

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

In the thrumming capital of the state of Ceará, miles of caramel-colored shores stretch along the crescent-shaped mouth of the Pajeú River. This is the place to settle in for caipirinhas on the sands at one of the many barracas (beach stalls) and soak up Brazilian beach life (head to the north end of Praia do Futuro for the best spots). In this dynamic country, a cultural fix is never far away; here that is the Dragão Center, a head-turning contemporary art gallery and fascinating museum dedicated to the traditional way of life. Pick up hand-crafted ceramics and lacework at the central market to bring some mementos home.

Recife, Brazil

feb 07, 2029

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Rio de Janeiro may capture the limelight when it comes to carnival, but Recife's huge street party, held every February, is where Brazilians go to dance. Maracatu drum orchestras parade through the old town keeping the beat, accompanied by energetic frevo dancers. Life revolves around the bars and restaurants in the Portuguese and Dutch colonial center and on the beach at Boa Viagem, which is lapped by waters calmed by the reefs after which the city takes its name and the gateway to a coast with some of the area's best seaside destinations, including Porto de Galinhas.

21.

Maceio, Brazil

feb 08, 2029

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Maceió, the Indigenous word for “spring”, with its watery backdrop of cyclic lagoons and lush mangroves, is a historic port with origins in 19th-century sugar trade. Today, you'll find a modern beachfront city surrounded by powder-sand beaches strung along the coast either side of the harbour. But before you dive into those turquoise Atlantic waters, take in the dockside's Belle Époque buildings, the vibrant craft market at adjoining Pajucara beach, and several enticing museums including the Théo Brandão Anthropology and Folklore Museum, set in a renovated seafront mansion. There's also a striking sculpture by Oscar Niemeyer, architect of the country's capital, Brasilia.
