Our ocean-crossing adventure departs from Barcelona, calling first at pretty Mahón on the Spanish island of Menorca, then entering French waters at Ajaccio in Corsica, Napoleon’s birthplace. Italy is up next: discover the beautiful beaches of Cagliari in Sardinia and the cultural gems of Palermo in Sicily. Across to North Africa now to explore the ruins of Carthage near La Goulette in Tunisia, discover the secret caves and tunnels of the Spanish enclave of Melilla, and stroll the bustling streets of Tangier. Then comes Portugal, where we enjoy the glorious beaches of Portimão, explore Lisbon one pastel de nata at a time, and bask in the natural beauty of Ponta Delgada and Horta in the Azores. Spend time at sea indulging in Crystal Grace’s all-suite accommodation, first-rate entertainment, and world-class dining, before we reach Halifax, Nova Scotia, for a fascinating glimpse into its maritime heritage. Our journey ends in New York City, where we have two days to soak up its infectious energy.

01.

Barcelona, Spain

sep 05, 2028

departure 6:00 PM

Barcelona, Spain picture
Past, present, and future converge in the Catalan capital – a place steeped in centuries of history but with a palpably youthful spirit. From the Roman ruins and maze-like medieval streets of the Gothic Quarter to the wonderfully whimsical architecture of Antoni Gaudí, and the Modernist masterpieces of the Picasso Museum and Fundació Joan Miró, there are treasures old and new at every turn. The city's dining scene is an attraction unto itself: keep it low key with plates of paella and jugs of sangria by the seafront, snack on jamón ibérico and fried seafood in the street markets, or indulge in Michelin-starred tasting menus.

02.

Porto Mahon , Spain

sep 06, 2028

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Porto Mahon , Spain picture
Whether you're captivated by maritime history, intrigued by cultural heritage, or simply seeking a scenic escape, Porto Mahon has something to offer. Its blend of coastal beauty, historical richness, and Mediterranean charm makes it a delightful and worthwhile destination for those exploring the Balearic Islands. The city's charm lies in its historical significance, evident in its well-preserved architecture that reflects a mix of Spanish, British, and Mediterranean influences. The 18th-century Fort Marlborough and the impressive Santa Maria Church are just a couple of the many architectural gems to explore, so make sure you pack some comfortable shoes and get exploring on foot. The town's pretty waterfront promenade invites leisurely strolls, and the bustling harbor showcases everything from traditional fishing boats to luxury yachts, while the city's relaxed ambiance extends to its local markets, quaint cafes, and tapas bars, where visitors can savor authentic Spanish cuisine.

03.

Ajaccio (Corsica), France

sep 07, 2028

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Ajaccio (Corsica), France picture
Charming town on the French island of Corsica with a rich history dating back to Napoleon Bonaparte. Home to the Maison Bonaparte, the residence-turned-museum bearing the general's name, this once fortified town founded by the Genoese in 1492 today boasts a Côte d'Azur flair along its trendy waterfront promenade. Nestled between sea and mountains, its magnificent UNESCO-designated Golfe de Porto is part of Corsica's Regional National Park, renowned for its geologic and ecologic natural value.

04.

Cagliari (Sardinia), Italy

sep 08, 2028

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Cagliari (Sardinia), Italy picture
Cagliari, capital of Sardinia, sprawls across the hills promising awe-inspiring views for those who venture to Monte Urpinu Park. At its heart lies the historic Castello district, where a Roman amphitheater, medieval towers built by the Pisans, and a 13th-century cathedral with an intricately carved crypt sit beside the monolithic architecture of the Mussolini era. Down by the harbor, the eateries and bars in the Marina buzz with life. In Via Sardegna and Via Cavour taste local flavors such as the peppery salami mustela, salty pecorino cheese, and carta musica, a wafer-thin flatbread said to sound like music when it snaps. They all go well with a glass of cannonau or vernaccia, the island's robust wines.

05.

Palermo, Sicily, Italy

sep 09, 2028

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Palermo, Sicily, Italy picture
Palermo, the capital of Sicily, is a vibrant and eclectic destination known for its stunning architecture, cultural landmarks, ornate palazzos, and bustling markets. At first blush, Palermo dazzles with colorful and energetic vibe, creating a captivating façade throughout the streets, which are lined with cupolas and vestiges of the Byzantine era and baroque periods. Look further and find less apparent delights like hidden chapels and vintage shops amidst a growing landscape of innovative eateries and grand historical treasures.

06.

Tunis (La Goulette), Tunisia

sep 10, 2028

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Tunis (La Goulette), Tunisia picture
Bathed in the warm waters of the southern Mediterranean, Tunis is a blend of Maghreb flair and French style. Visit the magnificent Az-Zaytunah mosque, the most sacred religious site in the country. Take a dip in the hot baths, built by the Romans. Or experience the sights and sounds of one of the exotic souks (bazaars).

08.

Melilla, Spain

sep 12, 2028

10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Melilla, Spain picture
European and Moroccan traditions intertwine in everything from the beguiling blend of medieval and modernist architecture to the food in Melilla, Spain's North African outpost. This cultural crossroads has religious buildings for each of the Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Hindu faiths. Explore Old Melilla, with its beautifully preserved fortress on a rock jutting out into the Mediterranean, and stroll past ornate buildings designed by Enrique Nieto, a student of Antoni Gaudí. And when you need more sustenance than this visual feast provides, tuck into everything from tapas to dishes laced with Moroccan spices.

09.

Tangier, Morocco

sep 13, 2028

8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Tangier, Morocco picture
Veiled in myth, Morocco's enigmatic port, Tangier, reveals history at every turn. The legend goes that the Greek god Hercules rested from his labors here – for certain, it was a Phoenician colony that could date from as early as the 10th century BCE. Pick out travelers' treasures to take home in the labyrinthine alleyways of the city's Medina, within the walls of a 15th-century Portuguese fortress.

10.

Portimão, Portugal

sep 14, 2028

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Anchor

Portimão, Portugal picture
The white contour of a church on a hilltop, the narrow streets of the old fishermen and tradesmen quarter, the presence of the sea and the immense beach known as Praia da Rocha identify the character of Portimao. The old town is dominated by the architecture of the late 19th and 20th centuries: houses boasting wrought-iron balconies, ornate stonework around the windows and doors, balustrades of stone and tile-covered ceramics and walls. This southern Portuguese port is the gateway to many historic towns of the Algarve region. The town offers a rich heritage of historical monuments and the eternal natural beauty of the Ria de Alvor. Portimao is also known for its extraordinary Portuguese cuisine. To savour the spirit of Portimao, there is nothing better than to sit in the shade of the trees in the gardens of Manuel Bivar, to watch the fishing boats sail by and to walk through streets and squares that exude the ambience of an active, hard-working town.

11.

Lisbon, Portugal

sep 15, 2028

7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Lisbon, Portugal picture
From Moorish walls and Manueline carvings to elaborate azulejo tiles and Gothic arches – the traces of Lisbon's rich history can be seen and felt simply by wandering its storied (and rather hilly) streets. But Europe's second-oldest city is also one of its most cosmopolitan, and amid historic landmarks like Jerónimos Monastery and São Jorge Castle, you'll find chic rooftop bars with views across red terracotta rooftops and the sparkling Tagus river, design-led concept stores selling artisanal souvenirs, and stylish restaurants serving up inventive takes on local ingredients.

Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel Island), Portugal

sep 18, 2028

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel Island), Portugal picture
Striking, atmospheric and delightfully unspoilt, the streets of the Azorean capital are lined with historic mansions and houses, blazing white against the cobalt sky, edged and decorated with traditional black basalt stone. A fantastic destination for wildlife lovers, in spring and summer boats head out of here each morning to spot the dolphins, whales, and sea turtles making their way through the Atlantic waters. But the city's three lush botanic gardens, beautiful Azulejo tiling in the ornate churches, and shorefront boardwalk lined with boutiques and restaurants, makes it ideal to visit at any time of year.

15.

Horta, Portugal

sep 19, 2028

7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Horta, Portugal picture
Don't be fooled by Horta's isolated location in the Atlantic on the Azorean island of Faial – for centuries, this fascinating city has seen many come and go, playing host to sailors of every stripe, from intrepid explorers to pleasure seekers and naval seamen. The historic tangle of streets, which winds around former merchants' houses and statuesque churches, bookended in time by the 16th-century defensive walls and the gleaming contemporary marina, is perfect for exploring on foot. Horta's rich, seafaring heritage is best experienced with a sunset GT at the world-famous Peter Café Sport – a bar that has been welcoming sailors to the island since 1918.

Bagpipers bid a warm welcome to Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia and the most Scottish of all Canada's great cities. The Citadel Fortress, which dates to the city's founding in 1749, stands over the thriving downtown area, where modern buildings nestle alongside the exquisitely restored Historic Properties waterfront.
