Embark on an 18-night transoceanic journey from Europe to North America. After exploring the colorful Portuguese capital, we spend two days at sea, making our way towards our first destination, the Azores. Two stops at this archipelago – Ponta Delgada and Horta – provide ample opportunity for wine tasting and hiking. Spend more time at sea indulging in Crystal Grace’s first-rate entertainment and world-class dining, before we reach the eclectic city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, for a fascinating glimpse into its maritime heritage. Then we have two days to soak up New York City’s infectious energy before we sail to Portland, Maine, where a taste of its famous lobster is practically non-negotiable. It’s back across the Canadian border to discover the incredible marine wildlife of Saint John, New Brunswick, and encounter the proud coastal community of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. We stop in Halifax once more before a final sea day brings us back to New York.

Lisbon, Portugal

sep 15, 2028

departure 7:00 PM

Lisbon, Portugal picture
From Moorish walls and Manueline carvings to elaborate azulejo tiles and Gothic arches – the traces of Lisbon's rich history can be seen and felt simply by wandering its storied (and rather hilly) streets. But Europe's second-oldest city is also one of its most cosmopolitan, and amid historic landmarks like Jerónimos Monastery and São Jorge Castle, you'll find chic rooftop bars with views across red terracotta rooftops and the sparkling Tagus river, design-led concept stores selling artisanal souvenirs, and stylish restaurants serving up inventive takes on local ingredients.

Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel Island), Portugal

sep 18, 2028

8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel Island), Portugal picture
Striking, atmospheric and delightfully unspoilt, the streets of the Azorean capital are lined with historic mansions and houses, blazing white against the cobalt sky, edged and decorated with traditional black basalt stone. A fantastic destination for wildlife lovers, in spring and summer boats head out of here each morning to spot the dolphins, whales, and sea turtles making their way through the Atlantic waters. But the city's three lush botanic gardens, beautiful Azulejo tiling in the ornate churches, and shorefront boardwalk lined with boutiques and restaurants, makes it ideal to visit at any time of year.

05.

Horta, Portugal

sep 19, 2028

7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Horta, Portugal picture
Don't be fooled by Horta's isolated location in the Atlantic on the Azorean island of Faial – for centuries, this fascinating city has seen many come and go, playing host to sailors of every stripe, from intrepid explorers to pleasure seekers and naval seamen. The historic tangle of streets, which winds around former merchants' houses and statuesque churches, bookended in time by the 16th-century defensive walls and the gleaming contemporary marina, is perfect for exploring on foot. Horta's rich, seafaring heritage is best experienced with a sunset GT at the world-famous Peter Café Sport – a bar that has been welcoming sailors to the island since 1918.

Bagpipers bid a warm welcome to Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia and the most Scottish of all Canada's great cities. The Citadel Fortress, which dates to the city's founding in 1749, stands over the thriving downtown area, where modern buildings nestle alongside the exquisitely restored Historic Properties waterfront. Here you can shop for authentic Scottish tartans and superb hand-knit woolens. Nova Scotians claim they have the freshest air and warmest smiles in Canada.

Portland, ME, United States Of America

sep 28, 2028

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Portland, ME, United States Of America picture
The largest city in Maine and the state's social and economic capital, Portland is a vibrant and historic destination. A favorite place for strolling, dining, shopping and entertainment is the Old Port, a revitalized warehouse district made all the more interesting for its connection to the working waterfront. The Arts District is situated just a few blocks away and is considered the city's secret treasure. Word is fast getting out, however, because the neighborhood is home to an array of art galleries, antiques shops, artists' studios and world-class museums such as the Portland Museum of Art. Any exploration of the Arts District should include a walk along Congress Street for a glimpse into the city’s history, a highlight of which is the Wadsworth-Longfellow House, the 19th-century home of the famed poet. Another well-known writer, Stephen King, was born here in Portland in 1947.

15.

Saint John, Canada

sep 29, 2028

9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Saint John, Canada picture
Here on the Bay of Fundy, a rare phenomenon known as the Reversing Rapids occurs when high bay tides collide with the Saint John River. History is impressive, too, with Canada's oldest continuously operating farmers' market and oldest museum. Nearby, Irving Nature Park's salt marshes, volcanic rock and forests are explored on winding trails.

16.

Yarmouth, Canada

7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Anchor

Yarmouth, Canada picture
A prime location at the mouth of the Gulf of Maine established this port's strategic importance centuries ago. Today you can unpick this rich history at Yarmouth's museums, which chart its origins as a settlement of the Mi'kmaq nation and the arrival of the French Acadians and English. The landscape offers many attractive clues to Yarmouth's heritage, too. Stroll about its streets to find fishing wharves and grand homes built for sea captains. Along the way, enjoy a local craft beer and snack on a lobster roll or a warming bowl of seafood chowder, courtesy of the fishing boats bobbing in the harbor. Yarmouth's natural surroundings are as charming as the town itself. Climb the 77 steps of the Cape Forchu Lighthouse for superb views of the rugged coastline. Take a walk in pretty Frost Park, particularly eye-catching during fall. And, at night, look up at the explosion of stars in the clear, dark skies for which this part of the wild east coast of Canada is famed.
