Take a trip to the the Old Town, the most exotic part of Mombasa. Set along the picturesque shores of Nelson Mandela Bay, Port Elizabeth has a rich history, that dates back to the early 19th century although the area was originally inhabited by the San and Khoikhoi people before being encountered by European explorers. Today, the city offers a variety of cultural experiences, with art galleries, museums, and theaters showcasing the region's heritage. The Route 67 public art trail, inspired by Nelson Mandela's 67 years of political life, is a unique attraction that blends art, history, and culture. Visitors can explore historical sites such as Fort Frederick, the Donkin Reserve, and the Campanile, a bell tower with panoramic views of the city. Port Elizabeth is at the end of South Africa's Garden Route. While considered one of the country's most important seaports and the center of its motor industry, it's also known for being the epicenter of South African water sports. As a result, much of the activity in “PE” takes place along its plentiful beaches. Marine life in the bay is abundant, as well, with plenty of dolphins and whales that can be spotted throughout the year.
