Your travels to Jatiluwih will take approximately two-and-a-half hours, with a rest stop in the village of Baha village en route.
The beautiful rice terraces of this mid-western part of the island, known as the “rice bowl” of Bali, have long been a favorite destination for visitors eager to absorb the quintessential vistas of pastoral Bali. With jati meaning “very” or “really” and luwih meaning “beautiful” or “excellent,” Jatiluwih is indeed a special place, with swathes of verdant rice fields working their way up the slope of Mount Batukaru. During a brief photo stop, you will have an opportunity to appreciate the scene.
Then depart for your visit to Bedugul’s Ulun Danu Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of the lake “Dewi Danu” on the edge of a huge crater. The temple was built in the 17th Century in worship of the Hindu Trinity: Brahma, Wisnu, Ciwa and the Lake Goddess.
Travel to a nearby restaurant for an Indonesian dinner buffet.
Refreshed, enjoy the approximately one-hour-and-45-minute transfer to the village of Tohpati, known for the production of batik. With your visit to a workshop., you will discover how pieces of ordinary cloth, from blank canvas to work of art, using a wax-resist dying technique. Colors might include indigo, brown and white, with hues and patterns traditionally representing a person’s rank and association with a certain region. Themes from everyday life are illustrated with depictions of animals and flowers.
Concluding your Bali countryside and artistic discovery, return to the pier and your Crystal ship with a journey of 45 minutes.
Guests should be aware that there is an approximately two-and-a-half-hour journey from the pier to Jatiluwih, with a rest stop en route; however, the fascinating sights included in this excursion are its main focus and more than compensate for the length of the journey. As this excursion involves walking over grass and gravel surfaces, it is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. It is recommended that guests dress in casual clothing, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as well as wear flat, comfortable shoes. Guests should also bring raingear in case of inclement weather.
