Leave the bustle of the city and relax during a one-hour drive north through rolling green hills and past beautiful coastline. Your first stop is at the Honey Centre. Here you’ll find New Zealand's largest display of live bees and a huge range of honeys available for tasting, as well as honey mead and fruit wine. Next, visit a local vineyard and taste award-winning wines and local cheeses in a platter match.

Lunch is at Brick Bay. Sample their handcrafted wines in the unique Glass House building before enjoying a platter lunch with a glass or two of your favourite wine from the tasting. Brick Bay is also known for their Sculpture Trail. Unfolding over a distance of a little over one mile, the trail winds through a landscape of native brush, pastures and vineyard, showcasing the best of New Zealand’s sculpture. Approximately 45 pieces, varying in style between rustic depictions of wildlife to shimmering modern showstoppers, are on display at any given time. Because each work is available for purchase, the collection changes regularly.

The day is rounded off with a stop at Chocolate Brown—purveyors of outrageously fine chocolates.
