Jet Boat Ride & Historic Devonport
Today’s excursion combines an exciting jet boat ride and ferry ride with a visit to the charming suburb of Devonport, where you will enjoy time for independent exploration.
DurationApproximately 3 hours
Begin with a 15-minute walk from the ship’s pier to Pier 3A, where a 23-seater, 600-horsepower, turbo-charged jet boat will be waiting for you. A safety briefing will advise you on what to expect and how to make the most of your 35-minute jet boating experience.
Taking the vessel to speeds in excess of 50 knots, the skipper will show you a different side of the iconic harbor. See famous landmarks, such as the Chelsea Sugar Refinery built in 1882, and hear engaging commentary. In addition to becoming introduced to waterside Auckland, you will also feel the thrill of the ride. Hang on tight while your vessel throws in some 360 spins, power brakes and other tricks out in the wide open space of Waitemata Harbour.
Conclude your jet boat adventure as you return to shore and walk to the ferry terminal. From here, you will be shown to the Devonport gate for your 15-minute ride on a Fullers vessel. You will be provided with a return ticket for the Fullers Ferry. With departures every 30 minutes, the ferry schedule gives you the flexibility and convenience to explore Devonport’s galleries, cafés and bookshops on your own.
Once you have made your way back to Auckland via the ferry, enjoy the 5-minute stroll to your Crystal ship.
This excursion is not recommended for guests with back or neck problems. Guests will be required to board the jet boat by negotiating four steps without handrails.
