Athens & the Acropolis
Athens is renowned as one of the greatest cities of the ancient world and the birthplace of western civilization. For first-time visitors, this excursion is an ideal introduction to the city’s splendid highlights.

Depart the pier via air-conditioned motor coach and begin your sightseeing drive through the picturesque marinas of Zea and Microlimano in the Piraeus area, before traveling to Athens. On arrival, you will see some of the most important sites of Athens such as Constitution Square, the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, the Temple of Zeus, the Royal Palace and the Old Marble Olympic Stadium.
Soon, you will arrive at the Acropolis, that colossal achievement
of ancient Greece. There is a breathtaking view of antiquity as you look at this marvelous building and the remains of the Parthenon. You are rewarded as history opens before you, and your knowledgeable guide shows you the extraordinary sights.
The Propylaia, one of the masterpieces of classical architecture, serves as the entrance to the buildings of the upper city. You will see the Temple of Apteros Nike (Wingless Victory) and the Erechtheum, with its classical stone-draped maidens, the Caryatids. You will also have a close-up view of the Parthenon.
Following your visit to the Acropolis, board your motor coach and return to the pier and your Crystal ship.
Although there is no age requirement for this excursion, it is suggested that guests be a minimum of eight years old in order to participate. As motor coaches cannot drive up to the Acropolis, guests will be required to walk the rest of the way. Most of this climb involves stepping on smooth marble, which can be slippery. As this excursion involves navigating approximately 80 steps at the Acropolis, it is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. It is recommended that guests dress in casual clothing, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, as well as wear flat, comfortable, rubber-soled shoes. The order of sights visited may vary.
