DurationApproximately 7½ hours
Board your air-conditioned motor coach for a two-hour journey west of Alexandria to the village of El Alamein, site of one of the most costly battles of World War II. Here, British forces halted the advance of General Erwin Rommel’s Afrika Korps into Egypt in 1942, claiming the lives of 80,000 men.
Visit the El Alamein Cemetery, where British, German and Italian troops are laid to rest. Also, visit the El Alamein Museum, featuring four main halls representing the countries that participated in the battle, and a joint hall exhibiting weapons and tanks, plus a series of paintings representing the battle and Egypt’s role during the war.
Following the museum visit, journey to the nearby hotel for lunch before returning to Alexandria and your Crystal ship.
