North Adelaide Guided Walk
Venture across the Torrens River for a pleasant, guided walk along quiet, tree-lined streets and a chance to encounter North Adelaide’s elegant mansions, historic churches, lush parks and inviting taverns.
DurationApproximately 4 hours
Aboard your air-conditioned motor coach, take the 15-minute transfer across the river to St. Peter’s Cathedral. Step inside the Anglican church to appreciate its architecture and stained-glass windows before commencing your walking tour of this quiet North Adelaide district, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Enjoy views of the city from Colonel Light’s Lookout and then stop at The Queen’s Head Hotel, where you will savor the atmosphere and taste the local brew.
Continuing your walk, next visit Christ Church, an Anglican church built in the mid-19th century.
Admire lovely sandstone mansions and other stately buildings as you stroll to the historic Wellington Hotel, where your guided walk concludes. Here, you may board the shuttle and return directly to your ship or, if you wish, you may stay in this part of town for independent exploration and return later to the pier on your own.
Guests must be a minimum of 18 years old in order to consume alcoholic beverages at The Queen’s Head Hotel. As this excursion is conducted mostly by foot, it is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. It is recommended that guests dress in casual clothing and wear flat, comfortable shoes. The order of sights visited may vary.
