Depart the pier and enjoy a city overview on your way to the Grand Mosque. As you will see, the mosque is grand indeed. Built between 1996 and 2007, it is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world. The magnificent structure accommodates 40,000 worshippers, with a main prayer hall that can accommodate 9,000.

Behold the mosque’s staggering size before traveling to the Corniche and then on to Heritage Village, a village inspired by the Bedouin communities of old. Here, you will peruse a small museum paying homage to a lifestyle gone by and illuminating the daily activities of the Arab community before the discovery of oil.

Next, visit one of the newest attractions of the UAE, the Louvre Abu Dhabi. In this, the first international museum of the Arab world, you will explore museum galleries telling the story of humanity in twelve inspiring chapters. Each chapter focuses on shared themes and ideas that reveal common connections throughout humanity. Items on display range from prehistoric artifacts to contemporary artworks in a combination of pieces belonging to the museum and on loan from renowned French museums.

After your survey of the museum’s exhibits, return to the pier with a transfer of about 15 minutes.

Guests should dress conservatively for their visit to the UAE. Gentlemen must wear a collared shirt, full-length pants or elegant jeans, and comfortable, closed-toe shoes (no tennis shoes or other athletic wear). Ladies must wear a dress, skirt or dressy slacks, with shoulders and knees covered. Please bring a scarf, piece of cloth or other head covering to cover the head and hair for the visit to the Grand Mosque. Some crowding may be expected. It is recommended that guests dress in casual clothing and wear flat, comfortable shoes. This excursion will operate in all weather conditions. The order of sights visited may vary.
