On this captivating two-week voyage, the journey is as spectacular as the destinations we visit. We begin in the Icelandic capital, Reykjavík, where a dip in the Blue Lagoon is a must, then continue around the country`s coast to Ísafjörður and Akureyri, to discover remote communities and admire pristine natural landscapes. Two days at sea offer a chance to unwind fully as we head to the Arctic town of Longyearbyen, cradled by mountains and glaciers, where whales swim in the fjord and reindeers are a common sight. Returning south to Norway, we call at Honningsvåg, the northernmost point of mainland Europe, see the white-sand beaches of Leknes, and explore the historic maritime port of Bergen. The Norwegian capital, Oslo, marks the end of an extraordinary voyage.

Wrap up warm, the mercury rarely pushes much above freezing on a good day in the world's most northerly town, halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole. Just a couple of thousand souls call this remote spot on the Norwegian island of Svalbard home – yet more than 10 times that number travel all the way here each year for a fleeting glimpse of life at the edge of the world. They are lured by the landscape carved by nature from the frozen earth and lapped by the Arctic, patrolled by arctic foxes, beluga whales and other precious wildlife. Here, humans and animals live in perpetual half-light for six months of the year, and, for the rest, constant darkness, lit only by the stars and the dancing lights of the aurora borealis. Get out on the water, hike in the mountains, go dog-sledding, meet the locals – this is a destination you will never forget.

The pretty little town is flanked by a mesmerizing canvas of fjords, mountains, and waterways which must be seen to be believed, and cast in the shadow of majestic Mount Fløyen, and visitors who are not afraid of heights should enjoy sweeping views of the valley via the Fløibanen funicular. Bergen is everything you would expect it to be: colorful fishing huts dot the landscape while the vibrant Fish Market, perhaps the beating heart of the town, is where visitors immerse in the flavors of fresh seafood and local produce. Traditional dishes like `klippfisk` and `smørbrød` reveal a deep connection to coastal resources, and are very tasty to boot!
