A day of culture awaits, as you visit some of Madrid’s most acclaimed attractions. First up is the lavish Palacio Real (Royal Palace), an astonishing complex of more than 3,000 rooms, bursting with remarkable treasures including superb tapestries and Stradivarius violins. You’ll even get to peek inside the throne room – still used today for important state occasions. Later, you’ll explore the famous Museo del Prado (Prado Museum), one of the most important art museums in the world. Founded in the early 19th century, initially to house the paintings collected by the kings of Spain, the Prado offers an outstanding display of works by Spain’s three greatest painters – Goya, Velázquez and El Greco – together with superb collections of works by Flemish, Italian and European masters. Your day continues with a tour of the city’s most striking sights, such as the Puerta del Sol and the arcaded 17th-century Plaza Mayor, and you’ll stop at local restaurants for lunch and dinner so that you can also get a taste for Madrid’s world-famous dining scene.

Today brings another chance to immerse yourself in Madrid’s vibrant history and culture. Start with a scenic drive along Gran Vía, Madrid's bustling thoroughfare renowned for its theaters and shops. As you make your way through the city, you’ll witness the grandeur of the Cibeles Fountain and the lush expanse of Retiro Park. Your tour continues through the Reina Sofia National Art Centre, where you can witness iconic works by Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró and Picasso, including the latter’s legendary Guernica. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll return to the hotel to relax and get ready for dinner. This evening brings a special treat – your chance to experience an authentic flamenco performance after dinner.

Today brings a remarkable trip to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed city of Toledo, regarded as one of the country’s most magnificent places to visit. Rising above the gorge of the River Tajo, Toledo dates from Roman times and later became the capital of Visigothic Spain. Explore its narrow, cobbled streets and marvel at the cathedral, an impressive example of medieval Gothic architecture, the elaborately decorated Synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca, and the Church of Santo Tomé, housing El Greco's most famous painting, Burial of Count Orgaz. You’ll enjoy the local vibe over lunch in a restaurant before returning to Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid. Enjoy some free time before a final dinner in one of Madrid’s wonderful restaurants.

BARCELONA, SPAIN
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Madrid’s train station for your transfer to Barcelona. On arrival at Barcelona train station, you will be transferred to the port to embark the ship for your onward cruise.
