Arrive at Rome or Florence airport and meet your tour leader. You’ll then transfer to Borgo La Chiaracia Resort Spa, an elegant retreat set on an ancient hilltop at the meeting point of Lazio, Umbria, and Tuscany, which will be your home for the next three nights. UMBRIA
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll visit the hill town of Orvieto, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its Gothic cathedral, highlights of which include its magnificent mosaic façade and sensational frescoes. Perched on a plateau, the town has wonderful views of the surrounding green hills, dotted with vineyards and olive groves. An expert guide will take you through the twist of narrow streets to discover Orvieto’s many attractions – which include an intriguing underground network of tunnels and caves. You’ll then travel on to a winery for lunch amid the vines before returning to the hotel to relax for the afternoon. In the evening you’ll enjoy dinner at a restaurant on the scenic shores of Lake Bolsena.
DAY

UMBRIA
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to Manciano for a hands-on cooking class, where you’ll learn how to make classic Southern Tuscan dishes such as pici all’aglione, acquacotta, and cantuccini. After lunch, continue on to Pitigliano, known as Little Jerusalem, home to a historic Jewish community and unique homes built into the cliffside. Enjoy a final dinner at the hotel.
DAY

ROME
After breakfast, you’ll check out of the hotel and transfer to Rome, stopping en route to explore Viterbo, a medieval city in Lazio. A guided walking tour through the 13th-century town takes in key sights including the imposing Palace of the Popes before you pause for a delicious lunch. Upon reaching Rome, check in at Baglioni Hotel Regina, a sumptuous Art Deco-style property in the heart of the city. Tonight, you have the choice of dinner and drinks at the hotel or a nearby trattoria.

After breakfast and check out, the wonders of Rome await you. Pass by the Colosseum then visit the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and the Trevi Fountain (don’t forget to throw a coin in for luck) plus Vicus Caprarius, the ‘City of Water’ beneath it. Reminisce over all that you’ve seen over one last lunch in the city before continuing to Civitavecchia to join the ship.
