UBUD – TEMPLES AND TRADITIONS

Begin with a visit to Batuan Temple, a traditional Balinese village temple known for its elaborate carvings, shrines and strong spiritual significance within the local community. Continue through the countryside to a traditional Balinese family compound for insights into household shrines and other ancestral traditions and customs. After lunch, head to Goa Gajah, one of Bali’s most important archaeological and spiritual sites. Take in its carved stone entrance, meditation caves and sacred bathing pools dating back to the 9th century. Return later to your resort for some free time before a Royal Balinese welcome dinner accompanied by a traditional local performance.

UBUD – A RICH ARTISTIC LEGACY REVEALED

Make your way into central Ubud, where the day begins at Museum Puri Lukisan, home to one of Bali’s most respected collections of traditional and contemporary Balinese art. Continue on foot to Saraswati Temple, a picturesque water temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess of wisdom and the arts. A short walk then leads to Ubud Palace, a royal residence known for its traditional Balinese architecture, courtyards and intricate carvings. After lunch, take some free time to browse the galleries, artisan boutiques and local cafés of central Ubud. Pause for dinner at a renowned local restaurant before returning to the resort.

Depart the resort mid-morning for a private Balinese cooking experience exploring regional ingredients, aromatic spices and traditional cooking techniques. After lunch, remainder of the day is yours to unwind at the resort. This evening, reconvene for dinner at a local restaurant exploring flavors spanning the entire Indonesian archipelago.

After breakfast, travel to south toward the coast, descending gradually from Bali’s central highlands through tropical landscapes, small villages and lush rice fields. After lunch at an oceanfront restaurant in Sanur, head to the port where you join the main cruise program.
