Disembark in Hong Kong and transfer from the cruise terminal to the airport to catch your regional flight to Beijing. After being greeted by your tour leader, you will be escorted to the Grand Hyatt Beijing, close to the lively Wangfujing pedestrian street and within walking distance of several famous landmarks. This luxurious hotel, with its blend of contemporary comfort and time-honored service, will be your home for the next four nights. The rest of the day is yours to explore at leisure. Tonight, dinner will be served at your hotel.

BEIJING
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll set off on a full-day tour of Beijing's historical treasures, starting with Tiananmen Square. Known for the protests of 1989, this vast public square is the site of the mausoleum of Mao Zedong. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the Forbidden City, the UNESCO-listed imperial palace complex of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It's home to ceremonial halls, labyrinthine courtyards, opulent thrones, and all manner of magnificent treasures. Next comes a walking tour of the city's famous hutongs, the narrow alleyways with residential dwellings, to glimpse traditional Beijing life. Then you will return to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.

BEIJING
This morning, after breakfast, you will head north of Beijing to the Mutianyu Great Wall. The combination of well-preserved fortifications and mesmerizing mountain and valley views makes this the ideal place to learn about the world's largest man-made structure. Stride out with your guide, stopping halfway for lunch at a local restaurant to recoup your energy. Return to the hotel for a leisurely evening and dinner.

BEIJING
Following breakfast, visit the Temple of Heaven, a complex of imperial buildings once used for solemn rites and ceremonies of Religious Confucianism. Formerly the site of lavish royal processions, complete with elephants, the Temple of Heaven now attracts locals gathering to practice tai chi, sing, dance, and play music. Afterwards, breathe in the fragrant air of the Summer Palace, a glorious ensemble of gardens, lakes, bridges, and temples built during the Qing dynasty. UNESCO has declared it "a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design". After lunch at a local restaurant, turn your sights to creative endeavors with a visit to UCCA, the Center for Contemporary Art, in the heart of Beijing's colorful 798 Art Zone. Return to the hotel for dinner.

After an early breakfast, check out for your transfer to Beijing airport and your onward flight to Da Nang, Vietnam, where you will rejoin your ship.
