Allowed Items

Can I bring oxygen on board?

We understand the importance of ensuring that you have a sufficient oxygen supply at all times. Guests may bring both oxygen tanks and concentrators aboard. Our facility does not provide oxygen or oxygen therapy and, as such, it is your responsibility to bring your own supply. If you bring a tank, we will require additional information. Please inform our OBGS team at [email protected] or your Travel Advisor prior to sailing.

Can I bring a CPAP machine?

We understand the importance of your health needs and if you are traveling with a CPAP machine, concentrator, or nebulizer, you must bring your own equipment on board for personal use. These medical devices require special attention and careful handling. Please ensure your CPAP machine, concentrator, or nebulizer is packed securely and labeled for
Crystal’s Official FAQs easy identification. Please contact [email protected] for more information prior to embarkation.

Are animals permitted onboard?

Only service animals will be permitted on select voyages. Animals that are not trained to do work or perform tasks are not considered to be service animals. Emotional support animals, which provide emotional support, well-being, comfort, or companionship to an individual with disabilities but are not trained to do work or perform tasks, are not considered to be service animals. Pets and other animals that are not service animals are not allowed on board.

Medical

If a passenger loses medication or doesn't bring enough onboard, are you able to replace them?

Our onboard pharmacy carries a large variety of medication to treat medical emergencies and chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes. In the rare situation that our guests forget to bring their medication or run out during their voyage our medical team will provide the medication, if available, in our onboard pharmacy for the duration of the voyage. If the medication is unavailable onboard, the doctor will make a prescription, and the medication will be purchased in a local port through our port agent. Please note, any medication distributed onboard is subject to an additional charge.

Is there anything guests can do to help mitigate their need to make use of onboard medical facilities?

Guests with certain medical conditions or needs that require special medication and testing should note that these may not be available in other countries. You are encouraged to visit your home doctor before traveling to ensure you carry all special medication and get checked before traveling. We also encourage our guests to declare to our medical team in advance if any special medication or care is needed so we may prepare accordingly.

Can I bring medicine to be stored in the fridge/freezer?

Yes, you can bring medicine that requires refrigeration/freezer. The medicine will be stored in the medical room under lock and key. Inquire at the front desk for further assistance. Please ensure you note this medicine in guest documentation under preferences. If this applies to you, please contact our Onboard Guest Services team prior to your voyage at [email protected].

Am I able to submit a claim to medical insurance or travel insurance after I disembark?

We always provide a proper internationally coded medical bill and a letter to submit with a claim to your insurance once you return home. We cannot guarantee this claim will be accepted or reimbursed.

Who should I call in case of an emergency?

In case of an emergency, please call 3333.

Who should I call if I need emergency medical attention while onboard?

For 24-hour medical assistance, please call 9911.

Am I able to make a doctor’s appointment while onboard?

To schedule a doctor's appointment, please call 9911.

When is the onboard Medical Facility open and when is your doctor available?

Our Medical facility is open from 8am - 11am and 3pm to 6pm. Doctor’s consultation hours are from 9am to 10am and 5pm to 6pm. Please be aware that consultations will incur an additional charge to your onboard account and are not included in your fare.

Documents

What documents are required to sail?

A valid passport and appropriate visas are required to sail. Note that passports must be valid for six months past the debarkation date. Any guest not in possession of valid documentation will be denied embarkation. Please note, passports must have sufficient blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps. Do I have to bring a passport to sail?

Our sailings require passengers to carry a full passport, valid for at least 6 months after the end of your voyage. For some ports of call, visas may be required.

Am I required to purchase travel insurance?

While it is not required for most voyages, we recommend all guests purchase, travel insurance to protect their trip. At Crystal we have partnered with Allianz Travel to make the process simple. Your Travel Advisor or Personal Cruise Consultant can provide additional information. For certain destinations, Inbound Travel Insurance is a requirement of the local government for entry. In most cases, this can be secured by Crystal prior to arrival. If insurance is not able to be secured by Crystal on the guest’s behalf, our team will advise guests pre-arrival, or while onboard, and provide instructions about how to do so. It is then the guest’s sole responsibility to obtain and have available, when necessary, the appropriate valid travel documents prior to arrival. You may be refused boarding or disembarked without liability for refund, payment, compensation, or credit of any kind if you are unable to visit the destination due to lack of necessary documents. For guidance about the necessary travel documents needed for your trip, please visit the local government's website for the most up-to-date requirements based on nationality.

Onboard Services

Where are your handwashing stations onboard?

Our handwashing stations are available in Marketplace, Trident Grill, and Beefbar. In all other dining venues onboard, we have hand sanitizers posted before you enter the venue.

Do you offer hypoallergenic products?

Our bathroom amenities are curated by Italian soap and scent company Ortigia which sources natural products indigenous to Sicily. Please speak to your Butler or call housekeeping onboard, who will provide you with hypoallergenic products.

Will we offer burial at sea (Ash dispersal) ?

While we do not offer burials at sea due to maritime regulations, we do offer various celebrations of life ceremonies. These may also include the spreading of your loved one's ashes on a private excursion. Please contact our Onboard Guest Services team at [email protected] to coordinate such arrangements for your upcoming voyage. Our onboard security will securely hold the ashes until the celebration is held.

Where can I store my valuables?

Each suite or guest room and suite is equipped with a personal safe with an electronic combination lock.

Can I undergo dialysis treatment on board?

Our facilities are not adequately equipped for this highly specialized, longer-term treatment. While we are unable to provide this equipment, guests who are undergoing peritoneal dialysis are permitted to bring their own equipment on board.

Do you provide wheelchair assistance on board?

Guests with limited mobility should be able to navigate the ship independently. We do not provide wheelchair assistance onboard, nor do we offer our wheelchairs for personal use (we may utilize one in case of an emergency). Assistance may be offered for embarkation and debarkation when visiting ports, based on availability. Please advise if your require this service in the Guest Information Form (GIF) prior to embarkation. Alternatively, you may opt to travel with a companion who can assist if needed.

Do you offer Scooter Rentals?

Guests with limited mobility should be able to navigate the ship independently. If you require a scooter for daily use, you can bring your own or have one delivered to the ship. Scooters are not available for use or rent onboard or in ports of call. The recommended size for scooters is no wider than 22 inches to comfortably maneuver around all doorways and passages onboard. Any scooter with a larger width should be collapsible for storage.

Does the Infirmary offer Dramamine if I am feeling sea-sick?

Yes, our Infirmary offers Dramamine pills and patches onboard for purchase. We can also provide Sea Calm.

Are your ships wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we offer accessible guest rooms and accessible restrooms in the common areas of the ship. If you require the use of a wheelchair, you must provide your own wheelchair as those carried onboard are for emergency use only. For your convenience and comfort, we strongly encourage you to bring a collapsible wheelchair. If you need to use a wheelchair throughout your voyage or have any other requirements, contact our Onboard Guest Services team at [email protected] prior to your voyage.

Smoking

What is the smoking policy onboard?

At Crystal, we want all guests to feel comfortable and at home while onboard. We recognize that some of our guests smoke, and others do not. While most areas of the ship are non-smoking, including verandas and most public spaces, there are designated areas that allow vaping and cigarette smoking. Indoor smoking is permitted only in the Connoisseur Club smoking lounge. This venue is also the only area where pipe and cigar smoking are permitted. Le Casino de Monte-Carlo is a completely non-smoking venue. Please note, electronic cigarettes and vapes are considered smoking devices and can only be used in the venues where smoking is permitted.

If smoke is detected in a guest room or suite, all guests acknowledge and agree to a cleaning fee of $250 per occurrence, which will be billed to the guest's onboard account. For more details, including ongoing infractions and fines, please refer to your Cruise Contract.
Hookahs, also known as water pipes or shisha, are prohibited items and not allowed to be smoked anywhere onboard, both indoors and on the outside decks.

Forbidden

What items are forbidden to bring on board?

  • Firearms and ammunition, including realistic replicas.
  • Sharp objects, including all knives and scissors. (Note: personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed).
  • Illegal drugs and substances.
  • CBD oil and other CBD products.
  • Medical marijuana.
  • Items that generate heat or produce an open flame. This includes heat pads, clothing irons, hot plates, coffee makers, travel steamers, candles, incense, and any other item that may create a fire hazard. (Note: The only exception to this policy is curling irons and hair straighteners).
  • Matches and normal lighters are allowed onboard. However, torch lighters (which emit a powerful, concentrated flame), and novelty lighters such as those that look like guns are not allowed.
  • Hoverboards and drones.
  • Martial arts, self-defense, and sports gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, and night sticks.
  • Flammable liquids and explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks.
  • Hookahs and water hookah pipes.
  • HAM radios.
  • Electrical extension cords.
  • Dangerous chemicals, including bleach and paint.
  • Perishable food and meat products.

Bankruptcy

Can you tell me more about the consequences of the bankruptcy of the former owners.

We understand your frustrations regarding lost funds with the former ownership of Crystal. The bankruptcy that is being referenced was in litigation against the former company, Crystal Cruises, and is not affiliated with the current Crystal. Guests who were affected by the former company have been privy to our Exceptional Initiative. It was our way of showing appreciation to our loyal customers who were financially impacted under Crystal Cruises' former ownership. All Crystal guests who had an outstanding Exceptional Initiative credit could maximize savings on select 2024 and 2025 departures.

Any inquires or concerns about the prior proceedings should address their concerns to Michael Moecker & Associates directly as we are not privy to any information.

Worldwide

Will I be informed of worldwide occurrences that pose a potential risk?

The safety of our guests and crew is of the utmost priority to Crystal. While we do our best to foster a safe environment, guests assume responsibility for their own safety, and we cannot guarantee guests’ safety at any time. The United States Department of State, CDC, and other governmental and tourist organizations around the world regularly issue advisories and warnings to travelers. We strongly recommend that guests obtain and consider such information from any applicable governmental authority when making travel decisions. You are solely responsible for obtaining current travel advisories, warnings, and requirements by contacting your travel agent, and applicable embassies and consulates worldwide.

What is force majeure?

Force majeure is unforeseeable circumstances that prevents the vessel from completing the itinerary as intended. Please note, we closely monitor activity and any alerts for both Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. If we are advised of unsafe conditions, we will reroute and advise all guests accordingly. It is our aim to uphold the highest levels of safety onboard and we appreciate your understanding.
