Cruising Hubbard Glacier
This enormous, stunning glacier is best viewed from the sea. The ice on Hubbard Glacier fell as snow centuries ago; compressed by its own tremendous weight, it flows seaward. Large chunks of ice regularly break off in a process called calving. And in the summer, rare humpback whales come to these waters to feed, with luck, you’ll see one of these gentle giants.
