DurationApproximately 2 hours
A minivan will transfer you from the pier to the helicopter, located nearby. Once aboard, allow your expert pilot to show you the sights of the Banks Peninsula as he guides the helicopter over the rugged peninsula coast, Taylors Mistake and Godley Heads.
Fly over the port of Lyttelton and the Port Hills before viewing Christchurch, giving you a bird’s-eye perspective on the damage caused by the earthquake that rocked the city on February 22, 2011.
Concluding your scenic, 25-minute flight, set down at the Waimakariri River, where you will join your jet boat for the next chapter of your New Zealand adventure. During a 30-minute jet-boat ride, experience the thrill of an extremely fast and maneuverable craft, specially designed to operate in shallow, swiftly flowing waters. In fact, jet-boat technology was pioneered over 40 years ago here in New Zealand and has been successfully promoted worldwide.
While your exhilarating boating experience will draw to a close, your memorable discovery of the Banks Peninsula continues as you enjoy a 25-minute return helicopter flight from the river to Akaroa, taking a slightly different route.
Then, it will indeed be time to wrap up today’s excursion with your transfer to the pier.
