Serbia is home to a multitude of complex flavors and time-honored culinary techniques, and it is believed that one of the best ways to learn about the country’s history and customs is through its cuisine. During this immersive excursion, you’ll venture by motor coach to one of Belgrade’s most esteemed cooking schools, Il Primo, where you’ll roll up your sleeves and get cooking.

Learn the art of traditional specialties like Serbian cheese pie, “Cvarci” (pork cracklings) pate with pickles, shallot and eggs, beef shank with cream cheese, and leek salad with sour cream. Guided by chefs that hail from Belgrade’s most acclaimed restaurants, you’ll gain insights into the creation of friendship, community and health through food, as the locals the see it. As the philosophy surrounding Serbian cuisine is centered on local, fresh ingredients, you’ll also learn a great deal about the local agriculture and crops integral to the region. Classic Serbian dishes handed down for generations, as well as modern twists on favorites, will be on the day’s menu.

This two-hour hands-on instruction culminates with a sampling of your masterpieces, as you join your fellow Crystal guests to feast. Your appetite for Serbian comfort food and culture more than satisfied, you’ll board the motor coach and return to your Crystal ship.

Important Notes:
Guests must be 18 years old to participate in this excursion. While walking is minimal, guests will be standing in the kitchen for an extended time period. It is recommended that guests wear appropriate layered clothing for the season (that they don’t mind getting a little dirty) and flat, comfortable footwear. Large jewelry, loose hair and other accessories are discouraged. This tour is not accessible for those in wheelchairs or with physical limitations.
