DurationApproximately 7½ Hours
Follow in the footsteps of Titanic's Builders on our fully guided tour of Queen's Island, Belfast where Titanic and her two sister ships were designed, built and launched. At the Pump House, you will be taken back in time to the sights, sounds and smells of steam-powered pumps. Your Titanic experience will live large in your memory as you walk the full length of the dock to fully appreciate the scale of the ship.
Your walking tour will conclude at Titanic Belfast® - a museum dedicated to the story of this famed ship. Located right beside the historic site of Titanic’s construction, the museum is housed in an iconic six-floor building. You will discover that Titanic Belfast® is more than a museum; it is a state-of-the-art visitor experience, an adventure that begins the moment you walk through its doors and into the giant atrium surrounded by the four, ships-hull-shaped wings of the building that house the Titanic Experience.
Explore the nine large galleries of the unique, interactive exhibition, uncovering the true story of Titanic, from her conception in Belfast to her famous maiden voyage and tragic end. You will also voyage to the bottom of the sea in the Ocean Exploration Center, which features live links to contemporary undersea exploration.
Take advantage of free time to enjoy views of the slipways where Titanic was launched or to relax in one of the area’s restaurants before rejoining your motor-coach for the short drive into the City Center to enjoy a relaxing lunch in one of Belfast’s famously friendly pubs.
Following lunch, re-join your motor coach for a brief panoramic tour of Belfast City. Aboard your motor coach, enjoy a look at a city of industry and elegance. Passing landmarks such as the Grand Opera House, the Albert Memorial, Queen’s University and the Botanic Gardens, you will learn about Belfast’s culture and history, while interesting commentary offers a deeper understanding of the city’s sights.
A particular highlight is Belfast City Hall. As you travel past this impressive structure, you will admire the grand, 300-foot-long façade made of Portland stone. You may also glimpse what is perhaps the most noteworthy of the statues on the Hall’s grounds, the marble figure of “Thane.” Sculpted by Sir Thomas Brock and positioned on a granite pedestal, the figure commemorates the 1912 sinking of the ill-fated Belfast-built ship, RMS Titanic.
Following your panoramic tour of the city return to Belfast Port and your waiting Crystal Ship.
