Enjoy commentary on such sights as the Grand Opera House and the Albert Memorial before passing Queen’s University and the Botanic Gardens. Located within these gardens is the Palm House, a superb structure of cast iron and curved glass built even before Kew Gardens opened in London in 1839.

Arriving at Belfast City Hall, pause to appreciate the impressive building with a 300-foot-long façade of Portland stone. Your stop will afford the opportunity to photograph what is perhaps the most noteworthy of the statues on the hall’s grounds, the marble figure of “Thane.” Sculpted by Sir Thomas Brock and positioned on a granite pedestal, the statue commemorates the 1912 sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic, the ill-fated Belfast-built liner.

Next, travel a short distance outside the city to see Stormont. A symbol of progress through Northern Ireland’s troubled past, this neo-classical building is the seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly, a devolved legislature established under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement of 1998. There will be an opportunity to photograph this wonderful building from the gates of Stormont.

Another highlight of today’s excursion is your journey to Cave Hill where Belfast Castle is located. With its familiar outline visible from many parts of the city, Cave Hill has captivated generation after generation, becoming ingrained into Belfast’s history and culture. Indeed, the hill is one of the most celebrated landmarks of the city.

Belfast Castle, situated on the hill’s lower slopes, is one of Belfast’s most outstanding and historically significant structures. Adding to its allure are beautiful gardens and an adjoining park.

Before returning to your Crystal ship, you will have the chance to appreciate the splendid sight of Belfast Lough and the city below from this dramatic viewpoint.
