Vineyard Wine Tasting & Barcelona Highlights
Wine enthusiasts are invited to join this outing to a renowned winery, Oller del Mas Winery & Castle, for a chance to learn about winemaking from grape to bottle. Highlights also include a wine tasting and Catalan refreshment as well as an introduction to the main sights in the city of Barcelona.
DurationApproximately 6 hours
Escape the bustle of the city and head towards a contrasting landscape dotted with vineyards and Masias – typical old Catalan houses. Departing from the pier, you will enjoy an approximately 60 minutes’ drive towards Oller del Mas Castle & Winery.
Oller del Mas Castle castle originated in the 10th century, now fully restored, with some of the walls dating from 946 A.D. Today, the Margenat family, heirs and conservers of the captivating history of the Ollers, opens with pride and enthusiasm the doors of the vineyard for your exclusive visit.
More than 1,000 acres of vineyards, cultivated lands and forests surround the majestic castle, under the beautiful scenery of the Montserrat Mountain. Take a walk through the vineyards with an expert guide who will help you to learn about grapes and different wines. Once inside the cellars, you will tour the facility and observe how this wine is produced and bottled - from planting vineyards to winemaking, from the ageing of wine in cellars to the design and marketing of the products.
You will find information about the crafting of fine wine, including aging and bottling, to be a perfect accompaniment to the sampling of three vintages, along with a typical Catalan snack.
Refreshed, return to Barcelona to enjoy the best highlights of the city including the Sagrada Familia (outside visit) and Passeig de Gràcia to view the Gaudí Houses. Your adventure complete, return to your Crystal ship.
