Become acquainted with Barcelona, one of Spain’s most prosperous and cosmopolitan cities on this excursion by air-conditioned motor coach.
DurationApproximately 4½-5 hours
From the pier, proceed past the monument to Columbus to Montjuïc Mountain, the site of the much-acclaimed Olympic Games in 1992. Ascend the mountain by motor coach for a splendid view of the city.
Continue on to the Spanish Village located in this area. Discover a wealth of Spanish architectural styles as you stroll along the atmospheric, narrow streets before pausing to enjoy regional specialties served with a glass of wine or a soft drink.
Back aboard your motor coach, proceed to walk to the Sagrada Familia, an unfinished masterpiece of striking originality by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí. Next, traverse Paseo de Gracia, Barcelona’s main street, which is a showpiece of works by Gaudí and other modernist architects. At the Old Quarter, leave the motor coach to walk through the Gothic Quarter.
After a closer look at Barcelona, return to your Crystal ship.
As this excursion involves approximately 2½ hours of walking, it is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. It is recommended that guests dress conservatively should they visit the Cathedral in the Gothic Quarter. Ladies must cover their shoulders and knees and men must wear long pants. As the Sagrada Familia is a work in progress, it is not uncommon to see workers operating cranes and setting up scaffolding. Local regulations require motor coaches to remain in designated holding areas, therefore guests will be required to walk approximately 15 minutes to reach the Sagrada Familia. An interior visit to the Sagrada Familia is not included. The order of sights visited may vary. A minimum number of bookings is required for this excursion to operate. Pre-reservation of this Crystal Adventures excursion is recommended.
