Tapas & Gaudí: A Feast for the Senses
Join us on this delightful outing, which offers a taste of classic Spanish tapas and a look at Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia.
DurationApproximately 4½ hours
Departing the pier aboard your air-conditioned motor coach, pass the Columbus Monument on the way to the Olympic Port, where you will disembark to begin your culinary experience. Going from restaurant to restaurant, try tapas, the small dishes incorporating ingredients commonly used in Spain.
After sampling tapas at your first stop, the restaurant Marina Monchos, rejoin your motor coach and travel to the Sagrada Familia, or the Holy Family Church. Designed by Antoni Gaudí in 1881, the church stands as witness to Gaudí’s unique genius. Dying suddenly in 1926, Gaudí was not able to see the structure to completion. Construction continues to this day.
After your photo stop of the Sagrada Familia, enjoy the short drive to Passeig de Gracia Avenue, Barcelona’s most elegant boulevard, where your tapas sampling will continue.
Your appetite for having a wonderful time satisfied, return to your Crystal ship passing by one more Gaudí building: the Batlló House.
It is recommended that guests wear flat, comfortable shoes. As the Sagrada Familia is a work in progress, it is not uncommon to see workers operating cranes and setting up scaffolding. Local regulations require motor coaches to remain in designated holding areas, therefore guests will be required to walk approximately 15 minutes to reach the Sagrada Familia. An interior visit to the Sagrada Familia is not included. The order of sights visited may vary. A minimum number of bookings is required for this excursion to operate. Pre-reservation of this Crystal Adventures excursion is recommended.
