Bangkok River Cruise & Sightseeing
Here is a wonderfully tempting, full-day excursion for guests who prefer a more relaxed experience while in Thailand. Although walking is minimal, it has not been entirely eliminated from this excursion.
DurationApproximately 10 hours
Pre-reservation of this Crystal Adventures excursion is recommended.
Departing the pier in Laem Chabang, a two-hour journey by air-conditioned motor coach will bring you to the riverside in Bangkok. Here, board your boat for a one- hour cruise along the bustling Chao Phraya River and its klongs, or canals. The ever-changing parade of canal scenes provides an intriguing spectacle as you observe typical waterborne grocery stores, houses on stilts and the magnificent Temple of Dawn.
After a Thai buffet lunch at a leading restaurant, re-board your boat and return to the landing area. By motor coach, proceed through the Chinatown commercial district to the colorful flower market at Pak-Klong-Talad. As your sightseeing drive continues, glimpse palaces, temples and other buildings that combine Western influences with early Rattanakosin style.
Next, make a brief stop at the City Pavilion that offers excellent photo opportunities of the Golden Mount, two ancient forts, Radchanadda Temple, and section of the old city walls.
Time permitting, there may be an opportunity to shop for local specialties before beginning the journey back to your Crystal ship in Laem Chabang.
Guests should be aware that there is an approximately four-hour, round-trip drive to Bangkok; however, the fascinating sights included in this excursion are its main focus and more than compensate for the length of the journey. Although extensive walking is not required, pontoons must be crossed to board the river boat; therefore, this excursion is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties, and it is not wheelchair accessible. It is recommended that guests dress in casual clothing, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as well as wear flat, comfortable shoes. There will be no interior visits to the attractions listed. Although it is not anticipated that you will get wet on this excursion, any electronic devices (such as MP3 players, cell phones, cameras, etc.), as well as any valuable items must be stored in a sealable, waterproof dry bag or left on board the ship. Any damage occurring to these items are the responsibility of the guests. The order of sights visited may vary. The operation of this excursion is dependent on prevailing weather conditions. A minimum number of bookings is required for this excursion to operate. Pre-reservation of this Crystal Adventures excursion is recommended.
