From your ship, take the short walk to North Wharf, home to the purpose-built floating pontoon of Auckland’s Seaplane. After a safety briefing and a chance to take photographs, board your aircraft, an eight-seater 1961 de Havilland Beaver seaplane named Aotearoa II.

Anticipating your exciting flight, enjoy the scenery as your seaplane cruises into the Auckland Harbor Aerodrome. Take in close-up views of the harbor traffic, including yachts, tourist cruisers and the many local ferries plying the Hauraki Gulf.

Once in proper position, your expert pilot will guide your plane into the air, taking off to treat you to birds’-eye perspectives of Auckland and its environs. Admire the city skyline, featuring your gleaming Crystal ship, and continue to Auckland’s youngest volcano, Rangitoto. Witness spectacular views into the crater, then soar over Motutapu Island and on to Waiheke Island, with its stunning beaches and wineries. On your return, fly over Motuihe Island and Brown’s Island.

All too soon, your aerial sightseeing concludes as your seaplane touches down in the harbor. Your plane will cruise back into North Wharf, where you will disembark and make the walk back along the waterfront to Queens Wharf and your Crystal ship.
