From the pier, travel by air-conditioned motor coach to the Arataki Centre, the gateway to the mountains. From the Centre's decks, take in sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, extending from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean.

After learning about the area's history and admiring the magnificent Maori carvings, follow your knowledgeable guide onto the wild and rugged beaches of the West Coast. Slip off your shoes and feel the black sand beneath your feet as you stroll along one of the world's most awe-inspiring beaches.

Equally mesmerizing is the beauty of a cascading waterfall, which you will have a moment to appreciate before heading into the lush rainforest. Your walk is both relaxing and stirring as you stroll along the easy bush tracks that wind between giant tree ferns. Accompanying you is the music of the native birds.

Your walk culminates with a visit to a magnificent specimen of New Zealand's famous kauri tree.

Rejoining your motor coach, return to your Crystal ship via the western motorway.

Important Notes: As this excursion involves extensive walking over uneven terrain, it is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. It is recommended that guests wear flat, comfortable shoes.
