A transfer of approximately 40 minutes brings you to the starting point of your hike. Follow your experienced guide along gently sloping trails, which will offer you the aromatic pleasures of pine trees, thyme and sage, along with wonderful views of Athens.

Your hike culminates in a visit to one of the most important Byzantine monuments of the Athens area, the Kaisariani Monastery. Located on a hillside at the foot of Mt. Hymettus, the enchanting monastery complex is enclosed by a high wall with two gates, one on the east side and one on the west. The monastery’s main church, or catholicon, dates to the 11th century and features a cross-in-square design with four columns and a dome. The site also incorporates a barrel-vaulted chapel added in the 16th century, a bath house and
a refectory, all centered on a courtyard. Beautiful frescoes adorn the interiors of the church and chapel.

Stop in at a nearby café for a cup of coffee and snack, with a chance to further enjoy the peaceful environment of this mountainside retreat. From here, your motor coach or minivan will return you to the pier.
