Arriving in the city’s riverside area by shuttle, use the provided map to walk the approximately four-block distance to Fernhill Glass Studios. Opened in 2004, the studio showcases the work of Claude, known also as Artist Claude, a native to Portland and longtime admirer of nature’s beauty, especially the play of color and light along Oregon’s coast.

After a brief glassblowing demonstration, enjoy a chance to make your own glass work of art. Artist Claude will assist you in selecting colors for your ornament, which you will design and craft by hand using the blow pipe. Later, Claude will finish your piece in his kiln and ship it to the address you provide. Shipping costs are included, and you surely will be excited to receive your ornament within days of your return home.

Having fashioned your own personal memento with the help of a talented local artist, return to your Crystal ship.
