Join your private car or minivan for the transfer to the helipad, from where you will begin your flight to the ancient, plateau-top fortification of Masada. Your pilot will hover over this archaeological wonder for about ten minutes, allowing you to ponder this UNESCO World Heritage Site from a unique perspective.
After a short fueling stop, fly over the Syrian-African rift and the Dead Sea, the deepest hypersaline lake the in world. With shores and a water surface situated at 1,407 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea is also the Earth’s lowest land elevation.
Other important sights unfolding below are the sulphur hot springs of Ein Gedi and the Qumran Caves, where in 1947 a Bedouin shepherd boy found the Dead Sea Scrolls, the world’s oldest known biblical manuscripts.
Next, fly west toward Jerusalem, enjoying magnificent views that can only be seen by helicopter, including dramatic glimpses of the Mount of Scopus, the Mount of Olives, the world-famous Temple Mount and the walled Old City.
Speaking of the Old City, on the landing of your helicopter, join your transportation and guide and head to Jerusalem for a guided exploration of the old city streets. Enter at the Jaffa Gate on the western side, then make your way among some of the most sacred sites in religious history. The colorful bazaar leads to the Christian Quarter along part of the Via Dolorosa, believed to be the route of Jesus as he carried the cross to Calvary.
A highlight of your Jerusalem experience is your visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher at Golgotha, representing the six oldest Christian sects. You will also admire the golden-topped Dome of the Rock and encounter the Western Wall, formerly known as the Wailing Wall, the holiest site in the Jewish world.
Exiting the Old City through the Dung gate, proceed to the American Colony Hotel for a relaxing lunch.Refreshed, join your vehicle and transfer to the helipad for the 30-minute flight to Ashdod, where you will transfer to your Crystal ship.
Important Notes: Guests must be a minimum of 8 years of age in order to participate. As this excursion involves approximately 2 hours of walking and extensive stairclimbing, it is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. It is recommended that guests dress in casual clothing and wear flat, comfortable shoes. Guests should dress conservatively for their visit to Jerusalem, with knees and shoulders covered.
