On your way to the cultural village, enjoy an introduction to the Mulinu‘u peninsula with a chance to view historical monuments and hear a brief history of Samoa.

Arriving at the Samoan village after a journey of about 30 minutes, you will be welcomed by a traditional ava ceremony and invited to sample ava, a drink made from the dried roots of a native plant.

Then, with the assistance of your guides, you are free to explore the center’s thatched huts housing a range of exhibits showcasing traditional Samoan life and encouraging guest participation. Witness and join in dancing, singing, weaving and crafting. Watch demonstrations in food preparation. See how the locals use the coconut tree for shelter, clothing, food and to treat ailments. Sample freshly prepared foods. Enjoy a 45-minute show, sure to both entertain and offer insights into local customs. Departing the cultural village, make your return to town for your visit to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. An architectural gem in the heart of Apia, the church has been recently rebuilt, and features a grand, white façade with an interior adorned by stained-glass windows and a wood-carved ceiling.
