Antwerp with Belgium Waffles
Enjoy Belgium waffles and chocolates in a culinary walk around the old city of Antwerp.Complimentary
Continue to Vlaaikensgang (“Pie alley”), a medieval alley dating from 1591. Stop for a moment to admire the massive Our Lady’s Cathedral, Antwerp’s major landmark and the largest Gothic church in Belgium. Notice the bronze statue of Peter Paul Rubens in the center of the Groenplaats city square. Rubens was one of Antwerp’s most famous native sons.
A true Belgium delicacy comes next: a mouthwatering Belgium waffle. Relax with a cup of coffee or tea as you savor this feather-light confection. Through the window of the waffle house you can observe how the waffles are made. Then for a sweet finale, enjoy two chocolate pralines in a chocolate shop on your way back to the ship.
