Your excursion commences by air-conditioned motor coach with a one-hour drive to The Hague, seat of the government and parliament of the Netherlands, as well as the resident city of Queen Beatrix. During your guided sightseeing tour of this grand city, you will view stately government buildings, including the Binnenhof and Buitenhof. Of special interest is the Ridderzaal, the oldest district of The Hague, which was built in 1280 by Count Floris V to entertain nobility. It is now used annually by Queen Beatrix to open Parliament.
Continue your visit to the Mauritshuis, a storied museum recently renovated which houses the Royal Cabinet of Paintings including pieces from Vermeer, Rembrandt, Jan Steen, and many others.
Afterward, drive to a local restaurant, where you will enjoy your meal before you will continue to one of the biggest cities of the Netherlands - Rotterdam. Via a short panoramic visit, you will see the architectural buildings of Rotterdam before visiting the newly opened Markthal, where you have some free time.
Opened in October, 2014, the newly designed Markthal is the Netherlands first fully covered market. Here, you will find various fresh foods, fruits and vegetables, as well as many inviting restaurants, where you can stop for a snack. Stroll around the market and discover what this wonderful Dutch market has to offer.
From here, reboard your motor coach for the return drive to your Crystal ship.
