DurationApproximately 6 hours
Your motor-coach transfer to the Rijksmuseum will take about 30 minutes, delivering you to one of Amsterdam’s, if not the world’s, most important repositories for art and artifacts.
Closed for ten years for a EUR 375-million renovation, the Rijksmuseum welcomes visitors into the re-opened main building, where approximately 8,000 of the museum’s collection of 1 million objects are on display. Paintings by Vermeer, van Dyck and Jan Steen are proudly showcased, along with the most famous of the museum’s works, Rembrandt’s The Night Watch.
A three-hour visit offers a chance to skim the surface of the museum’s extensive collection, creating an impression that will last a lifetime. During this time, enjoy a cup of coffee and a light refreshment.
Your next visit is to the Rembrandt house, where artist Rembrandt Van Rijn lived until 1658.Converted into a museum, this building now contains sketches by the Dutch master, as well as collections of furniture, paintings, porcelain, statues and weapons, all of which influenced Rembrandt’s art.
Enchanted by your survey of the lives and works of two of history’s most venerated artists, re-board your motor coach and return to your Crystal ship.
