Known locally as the "Oriental Archipelago," the Amami Islands are located south of Kagoshima. The surrounding sea has been designated as a quasi-national park, its clear waters and thriving coral reefs popular with divers.
Board a motor coach and drive to the beach house. Don your wet suits, life jackets and snorkeling gear, and receive a safety and breathing briefing from your guide before entering the water. Once underway and underwater, look for the brightly colored coral reefs and the tropical fish that live there. Enjoy the silence of the sea as you observe the precious ecosystem here.
