Departing the pier aboard your motor coach, venture towards the magnificent Godafoss, named for the historical event that took place here in the year 1000 when the Chieftain made a public declaration in favor of Christianity by throwing his carvings of pagan gods into the falls.

For your look at this incredible waterfall, you will make a stop on the eastern bank of the river Skjalfandafljot, a short distance from Godafoss.

From here, return to Akureyri for your overview of this charming town. Travel through the oldest part of the city, where you can see the Danish influence from a time when Iceland was under the Danish crown. You will also get acquainted with the newer sections of town.

Next, explore the lovely Botanical Garden. Admire examples of every plant species indigenous to Iceland and inspect an extensive collection of high-latitude and high-altitude plants from around the world during your engaging half-hour visit. Afterward, you will return to the pier and your Crystal ship.
