Joining your motor coach, begin your travels over rolling terrain and past the market gardens and orchards of the Adelaide Hills. Soon, you will arrive at the village of Hahndorf. Settled in 1839 by Prussian Lutheran families, Hahndorf is named after Captain Dirk Hahn of the ship, Zebra, which landed on Adelaide’s shores in 1838 with a group of Prussian immigrants. Captain Hahn stayed on to ensure that the new arrivals were settled, eventually selecting an area near Mt Barker as an appropriate place for the migrants to begin new lives in South Australia.

Exploring the charming town, you will appreciate the magnificent chestnut and elm trees that line the main street, and admire the carefully restored original buildings. Enjoy free time to browse Hahndorf’s many craft shops and boutiques, and wander past some of its German restaurants. Stop for lunch at your own expense before returning to your Crystal ship.

It is recommended that guests wear flat, comfortable shoes. Prevailing weather conditions may affect views from Mt Lofty. The order of sights visited may vary.
