Bid farewell to the ship and depart for Rome’s Fiumicino Airport for your flight to Barcelona on the north-east coast of Spain. On landing, you will be greeted and escorted to El Palace Hotel Barcelona. The rest of the day will be at your leisure.

FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF GAUDÍ
BARCELONA, SPAIN
After breakfast, meet your expert guide for a fascinating tour of the work of the 19th-century architect Antoni Gaudí. You will soon understand why UNESCO has recognized several of his creations when you visit the still-unfinished Sagrada Familia, the soaring spires of which are a city landmark, and Park Güell, a beautiful park with fantastical sculptures and superb views. After lunch, relax at your leisure for the afternoon. Dinner will be served at a renowned local restaurant.

EXPLORE THE PINK MOUNTAINS

Today, you will head into the pink mountains, the Serra de Montserrat, Spain’s first National Park. In its folds stands a Benedictine abbey, which you will visit to explore its museum and see the shrine of the Black Virgin of Montserrat within its domed basilica. Afterwards, you will continue south to the vineyards of Penedés for a tasting of Spain’s famous sparkling wine, cava, which is produced here. After returning to your hotel, you will dine in a local restaurant.
