Exhibiting an understated style that became his trademark, Hank Aaron was the all-time home run champion for 33 years until being surpassed by San Francisco Giants outfielder Barry Bonds on August 7, 2007. In addition to his 755 home runs, he holds the major league record for total bases, extra-base hits and RBI. Aaron was named the 1957 National League MVP, won three Gold Gloves for his play in right field and was named to a record 24 All-Star squads. To honor Aaron's contributions to Major League Baseball, MLB created the Hank Aaron Award, an annual award given to the hitters voted the most effective in each respective league. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982, his first year of eligibility. In 1999, editors at The Sporting Newsranked Hank Aaron 5th on their list of "Baseball's 100 Greatest Players." That same year, baseball fans named Aaron to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team.
Ken Rees brings to the role of destination lecturer over 25 years experience as a world-travelling foreign correspondent. During his career, he has reported extensively from Italy, Greece, and the Middle East. His many news credits include the Lebanese civil war, the first Gulf War, the loss of the space shuttle Challenger, and the sectarian troubles of Northern Ireland. Ken has held almost every job in a television newsroom from scriptwriter, news editor, and reporter to Director of News and Current Affairs. During a 15-year career with Britain’s flagship network program, ITN’s News at Ten, he served as a Senior Foreign Correspondent and spent six years covering the United States from Washington, DC. In 1986 the Royal Television Society named Ken as Television Reporter of the Year, their highest honor. He now works as a broadcast consultant, trains journalists for TV companies, and writes on travel and world affairs.
In 18 years as a NASA astronaut, Captain Robert “Hoot” Gibson flew five space flights, four of them as Mission Commander, aboard the Space Shuttles - Challenger, Columbia, Atlantis, and Endeavour. A veteran US Navy fighter pilot, he flew combat missions in Southeast Asia and attended the Navy Fighter Weapons School “Topgun” before being selected as an astronaut in 1978 in the first Space Shuttle Astronaut selection. His numerous honors include the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame in 2003.
Born in England, Kerr is a Professor of Ancient Civilizations and Cultures and is the Director for Continuing Education at Edison State College. He has spent the last thirty years researching, writing and broadcasting on the Ancient Civilizations of India, Persia, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Turkey, and the Levant. Professor Kerr is described as "a leading historical popularist." He is a published author and regularly appears on Fox television and PBS television and radio, contributing programs which focus on ancient history, culture and comparative religion. He is also in demand as a moderator for topical historical/political televised events and phone-ins. His work also regularly appears in the press particularly historical and travel journals.
Kerr is particularly well known and respected for the interactive popular talks he gives to inquiring audiences throughout the world and has been acclaimed for being able to present complex historical, political and religious issues in a straight forward, balanced and enjoyable manner. He is particularly noted for his ability to compress thousands of years of complex history into an enjoyable, often humorous, summary form which leaves audiences focused on the main events. He is a guest lecturer at various universities, communities and museums internationally. His latest book Ancient Egypt and Uswas published in 2009 and focuses on Ancient Egypt’s impact on our lives today. His next book is a sister work on the Impact of ancient India, Afghanistan and Persia on modern life.
Kerr graduated with a First Class Honors degree from Leeds University before going on to conduct research in Iraq, India and Egypt. Earlier in his career he lived full time in India for three years and in Saudi Arabia for two years conducting research on the ancient history of the great civilizations of the Middle East and Indian sub continent. He is a specialist on the development and interaction between these ancient civilizations and cultures. Kerr has a particular passion for the development of the architectural style and function of their temples forts and palaces.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, John McMichan obtained his medical education at Monash University and then spent time in Surgery and Surgical Research at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. After a period as a Ship's Surgeon, John with his wife Jan, moved to Rochester, Minnesota where he joined the staff of the Mayo Clinic specializing in Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesiology and Medical Education. Because of their love of passenger ships, John and Jan have taken many cruises to all parts of the world and now, as John has retired from clinical practice, he is a frequent lecturer at sea discussing a variety of medical topics in a light and informative manner and providing take-home messages for better health and longer life.
One of the first six women to enter NASA’s Astronaut Program, Dr. Rhea Seddon is a veteran of three Space Shuttle flights, totaling 30 days in space. In 1991 she was a Mission Specialist on the first Shuttle flight dedicated entirely to life sciences research and in 1993 she was the Payload Commander in charge of all science activities on Spacelab Life Sciences 2. The Assistant Chief Medical Officer of the Vanderbilt Medical Group for 11 years after leaving NASA, she is now a founding member of LifeWings Partners LLC, which uses aviation-based safety tools to improve safety and quality in health care.
Ken Walsh is the chief White House correspondent and author of the "Presidency" column for U.S. News & World Report. He has covered the White House for 'U.S. News' since 1986 and is one of the most experienced and longest-serving journalists ever to cover the presidency. He has reported on and written about five presidents; Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, and every presidential campaign since 1984. Historian Douglas Brinkley has written of Walsh: "No journalist today covers U.S. presidential politics with the same bedrock self-assurance, analytical thought, and literary aplomb as Ken Walsh."
Walsh has won the most prestigious awards for White House-related journalism. He won the Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Coverage of the Presidency in 1992, 1998, and 2009, and the Aldo Beckman Award in 1991 and 2007. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Washington Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 2009. He is former president of the White House Correspondents' Association. Walsh appears often on national television and radio and gives frequent speeches around the United States, and he teaches as an adjunct in the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C.
He is the author of five books, including Family of Freedom: Presidents and African Americans in the White House (2011), From Mount Vernon to Crawford: A History of the Presidents and Their Retreats (2005), and Air Force One: A History of the Presidents and Their Planes (2003).
A New York City native, Walsh received a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1968 from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and a master's in communication in 1970 from American University in Washington, D.C. Just after graduate school, he spent nearly two years as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

John has over 35 years experience in the Golf business and became a PGA member in July, 1972. He served his Apprenticeship under the late Tony Novitsky at Columbine Country Club, Littleton, Colorado. Columbine was the Host Club for the 1968 PGA Championship. John is a life member and a Quarter Century member of the PGA of America. John has held positions as an Assistant Golf Professional, Head Professional, Director of Golf and General Manager at Private Country Clubs and a Sheraton Resort. He is currently a PGA Instructor at the SDGA, San Diego Campus. The other SDGA Campus's are located in Phoenix, Myrtle Beach and Orlando. Also, John is an independent PGA Golf Instructor at the Carlsbad Golf Center, Carlsbad, California, recently rated in the Best 100 Golf Shops by Golf World for 2008.
