Bill Boggs, the celebrity correspondent for the syndicated My Generation, television show, is a four-time Emmy award-winning TV host and interviewer, an entertainment industry insider and a major figure in the music, lifestyle, food, and celebrity reporting arenas. His career has spanned more than twenty-five years on TV. He is the bestselling author of the Harper Collins book, Got What It Takes?, a sought-after motivational speaker, and the creator and star of the off Broadway play, Talk Show Confidential, which has been running at New York’s Triad Theater since 2003. As host of the long-running food network series, Bill Boggs’ Corner Table, the New York based Midday Live With Bill Boggs, NBC’s Weekend Today in New York, and the Fox series Comedy Tonight, Bill has interviewed many of the most notable personalities of our time - including music-world giants, presidents, international leaders, writers, athletes, celebrity chefs, not to mention a movie star or two.
In his term as the fifteenth chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Myers led the United States military through four years of tumultuous change on the international and domestic stage. From our engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan to the military’s heroic role following Hurricane Katrina, Myers was the principal military advisor to the president, the defense secretary, and the National Security Council in his role as Joint Chiefs chairman. In his presentation, Myers offers analysis on military, security, and preparedness matters at home and abroad. In 2007, Myers became one of three selected for the first CIA External Advisory Board, which is responsible for providing advice on management and related issues to the intelligence community. A native of Kansas, Myers is a 1965 graduate of Kansas State University and received a master’s degree in business administration from Auburn University. Entering the Air Force following his graduation from Kansas State, Myers’s military education included the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama; the US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania; and the Program for Senior Executives in National and International Security at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Myers has served the US Air Force throughout the world in many capacities. He was a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, and his career includes operational command and leadership positions in a variety of Air Force and joint assignments. General Myers is a command pilot with more than 4,100 flying hours. In 1998, he became commander-in-chief, North American Aerospace Defense Command and US Space Command; commander, Air Force Space Command; and Department of Defense manager, space transportation system contingency support at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. In this role, General Myers was responsible for defending America through space and intercontinental ballistic missile operations. As the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs from March 2000 to September 2001, General Myers served as the chairman of the Joint Requirements Oversight Council, vice chairman of the Defense Acquisition Board, and as a member of the National Security Council Deputies Committee and the Nuclear Weapons Council. In addition, he acted for the chairman in all aspects of the planning, programming, and budgeting system, including participation in the Defense Resources Board. General Myers is the author of the memoir, Eyes on the Horizon: Serving on the Front Lines of National Security, which focuses on the foreign policy challenges facing the United States.
Ken Rees brings to the role of destination lecturer over 25 years experience as a world-travelling foreign correspondent. During his career, he has reported extensively from Italy, Greece, and the Middle East. His many news credits include the Lebanese civil war, the first Gulf War, the loss of the space shuttle Challenger, and the sectarian troubles of Northern Ireland. Ken has held almost every job in a television newsroom from scriptwriter, news editor, and reporter to Director of News and Current Affairs. During a 15-year career with Britain’s flagship network program, ITN’s News at Ten, he served as a Senior Foreign Correspondent and spent six years covering the United States from Washington, DC. In 1986 the Royal Television Society named Ken as Television Reporter of the Year, their highest honor. He now works as a broadcast consultant, trains journalists for TV companies, and writes on travel and world affairs.
Dr. Jay Wolff is an internationally known and acclaimed lecturer who travels the world and presents in-depth lectures about the people and events that have shaped the places visited along the way. He takes the facts of history and the legends and folkways of civilizations and weaves them into stories of the world. Dr. Jay Wolff took his undergraduate and doctoral degrees at Georgetown University in Washington DC. A member of the faculty of Florida Gulf Coast University's Renaissance Academy and elected a member of the British Royal Society of Health, he has published more than a hundred articles on history and culture and healthcare in professional journals as well as American Heritage, Forbes, American Legacy, The Washington Post and The L.A. Times. He has been a commentator on The History Channel and is an enthusiastically received destination lecturer who brings history to life with stories of the people and events that changed the world. Dr. Jay began researching and writing his published historical articles while practicing his first profession, dentistry. After retiring from dentistry, history research and writing became his full-time work. His library of lectures includes more than 101 individual presentations, covering Alaska, The Panama Canal, South America, The British Isles, Scandinavia, Northern Europe, The Mediterranean, The Caribbean, The Atlantic, The Pacific, The Orient, India, The Middle East and the entire African continent. His remarkable ability to deliver each full lecture without the use of notes or written references delights audiences because there are no distractions to the riveting story-telling quality of Dr. Jay’s lectures.
Chris Croxson completed a distinguished business career with Unilever PLC and Bermuda-based Bacardi-Martini, Ltd. and then embarked on obtaining his master’s degree in marine biology at National Oceanography Centre (Southampton University), graduating with first-class honors. After spending a short period of time teaching high school biology, he now divides his time equally between cruise lecturing, seabed environmental surveys and marine mammal observations. He has significantly contributed to ground-breaking conservation research such as coral ecology on the Great Barrier and Ningaloo reefs, Bermuda and the Caribbean, marine biota in the Galapagos, Whale sharks in Western Australia and most recently, Great White sharks in South Africa. His public speaking experience, which began in his business life, was originally concerned with financial and IT developments, but now delves into fascinating aspects of marine biology and oceanographic science. He regularly speaks at the monthly public lecture at the U.K. National Oceanography Centre, and other university events. Chris is a very experienced cruise lecturer on themes relating to the marine flora and fauna of the areas being visited, along with associated ecosystems and oceanographic features. His talks are primarily intended to enthral and entertain, with the secondary aim of informing through science. Chris’s overriding objective is to enhance passenger enjoyment by creating a greater awareness and appreciation of the marine world that surrounds them.
Dr. Jean-Pierre Isbouts is a Professor at Fielding Graduate University, an award-winning filmmaker, and the author of numerous publications on biblical history and archaeology. His richly illustrated presentations will survey the history and archaeology of the biblical world. An award-winning writer and producer of films on art, history, and music, Dr. Isbouts has produced records with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, and others. His most recent film project is Young Jesus, a dramatized feature based on his book Young Jesus: Restoring the Lost Years of a Social Activist and Religious Dissident, which was published Easter, 2009. A charismatic and entertaining speaker, Dr. Isbouts has lectured at conferences throughout the world, and has led tours in Europe and the Middle East. His other books on biblical history include From Moses to Muhammad and the best-selling National Geographic publication The Biblical World – An Illustrated Atlas.
Bill Miller is considered an international authority on the subject of ocean liners & cruise ships. This includes those great ships of the past, those “floating palaces,” as well as the current generation of cruise ships, the “floating resorts”. Called “Mr. Ocean Liner,” he has written over 60 books on the subject: from early steamers, immigrant ships and liners at war to other titles on their fabulous interiors, in post card form and about the highly collectible artifacts from them.
Bill begun his career in conservation as a graduate student where he studied causes of decline in the critically endangered California condor. He went to work for the Zoological Society of San Diego where he took on leadership of the zoo's involvement in the condor recovery efforts. Bill was soon recognized internationally for his efforts in the recovery of endangered species and begun to take his work abroad. He has now worked in more than forty countries with species running the range of butterflies to sea turtles to giant pigs in habitats ranging from tropical islands to the Grand Chaco of Paraguay and Argentina and the deserts of California.
Colonel (Ret) Rafael (Ralf) Vargas’ 30-year career with the U.S. Army afforded him unique opportunities to develop his expertise in European Affairs. He spent sixteen years in overseas assignments, including three years at NATO Diplomatic Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium where he shed his uniform and assumed the role of a diplomat. As the Chief of the NATO Situation Center he was responsible for Crisis Management. His broad experience provided him the background to discuss the emergence of the European Union as well as the role of NATO in today’s world. Post military life took him to the University of Nevada, Reno, where he taught for five years. He now travels extensively on the geo-political lecture circuit with his popular series, The Changing Face of Europe. His goal is to simplify the headlines and provide his audience with a basis for following the facts with ease. As a note of interest to television viewers, Ralf is the father of Elizabeth Vargas, host of ABC’s 20/20.
Ambassador Howard K. Walker's 33 years diplomatic career included assignments in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, and missions to Asia and South America. He was Ambassador to three countries (Madagascar, Togo, and The Federal and Islamic Republic of The Comoros), acting Ambassador in South Africa, acting Ambassador in Tanzania, Consul General in northern Nigeria, Director of the State Department's Office of West Africa Affairs, and Political Counselor in Jordan. He was the State Department's senior official and Vice President at The National Defense University in Washington where he was responsible for ensuring that America's future generals and admirals understand the diplomatic dimension of military action. As Deputy Commandant of The NATO Defense College in Rome, he was responsible for ensuring that its students who are future military and civilian leaders of that American - European alliance understand the diplomacy of war. Following his diplomatic career, Ambassador Walker, who has a Ph.D. degree in Government and Economics, has written about foreign policy for newspapers and journals, spoken on those subjects at foreign policy conferences in the U.S. and abroad, and taught courses on diplomacy and international relations at universities in Washington, Rome, and South Africa where he was Fulbright Visiting Professor at The University of Cape Town and at Stellenbosch University.

John has over 35 years experience in the Golf business and became a PGA member in July, 1972. He served his Apprenticeship under the late Tony Novitsky at Columbine Country Club, Littleton, Colorado. Columbine was the Host Club for the 1968 PGA Championship. John is a life member and a Quarter Century member of the PGA of America. John has held positions as an Assistant Golf Professional, Head Professional, Director of Golf and General Manager at Private Country Clubs and a Sheraton Resort. He is currently a PGA Instructor at the SDGA, San Diego Campus. The other SDGA Campus's are located in Phoenix, Myrtle Beach and Orlando.
