Richard Martin (Oxford, England)
Richard Martin was born in Pinner, Middlesex and educated at Latymer Upper School in West London before going to St. John’s College, Oxford to read Modern History. Richard taught English and History at Harrow School and, after being ordained as an Anglican priest, was Chaplain and Head of Theology at Magdalen College School, Oxford. When he isn’t sailing the seven seas, he assists in the historic parishes of St. Thomas the Martyr and St. Barnabas, Oxford. Richard lectures on destinations and historical subjects and also specializes in art and architecture in North and South Atlantic ports. He is a frequent visitor to the West Indies, Brazil, South Atlantic and West and South Africa. He has been English Chaplain at All Saints', San Remo, on the Italian Riviera, and has led many tours to Italy, France, Spain and Portugal as well as pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostella and Assisi. He is a long-standing member of the British Italian Society and the Oxford Italian Association.
Alexander B. Murphy (Eugene, OR)
Frequent lecturer and author, Alec Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in archeology from Yale University, a law degree from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in geography from the University of Chicago. He is past president of the Association of American Geographers and a leader in the effort to promote geographic education. His presentations help guests appreciate the nature and significance of the places where we sail.

Want to take your home movies to the next level and learn how to share them with family and friends? In five entertaining classes, learn how to shoot and edit short movies using an iPad. Improve your video and photo skills. The course is taught by professionals, but aimed at non-professionals.
Course requirements: please bring your own iPad pre-loaded with the iMovie application. If you do not already own the iMovie for iOS app, you must have iOS7 in order to download iMovie from the App Store. If you have an older version of the iMovie app, be sure to update to the current version. You cannot download the app on board the ship. Please sign up online using the Priority Check-in & Planning Center (PCPC). If you sign up on board, make sure to sign up EARLY, in the Library, as the class size is limited.

The use of lightweight poles for stability and balance will facilitate your fitness needs even if you have knee or hip issues. Two specially designed adjustable poles work the upper body while walking. Like cross country skiing, the poles are used by the arms to match each step the person takes. Our Fitness Staff will guide you to quickly be deck-walking for fun and fitness. You will be using feather weight aluminum poles provided by the market leader, LEKI®.
Bruce Murray has been a C.P.G.A. member for over 40 years serving the C.P.G.A. as a Director, as well as serving as chairman of many association portfolios. He has been a Head Professional/Director of Golf at five clubs in his career the most prominent being Royal Montréal, Shaughnessy in Vancouver and now Wildfire in Lakefield, Ontario. Bruce's responsibilities have varied within the scope of the various clubs, but teaching has been and remains his main passion. He has taught students of every level, from novices to professionals and leading amateurs. Bruce is now retired from the private club life and lives outside Halifax, Nova Scotia.
