Ken Walsh (Bethesda, MD)
Ken Walsh is the chief White House correspondent and author of the "Presidency" column for U.S. News & World Report. He has covered the White House for 'U.S. News' since 1986 and is one of the most experienced and longest-serving journalists ever to cover the presidency. He has reported on and written about five presidents; Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, and every presidential campaign since 1984. Historian Douglas Brinkley has written of Walsh: "No journalist today covers U.S. presidential politics with the same bedrock self-assurance, analytical thought, and literary aplomb as Ken Walsh."
Walsh has won the most prestigious awards for White House-related journalism. He won the Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Coverage of the Presidency in 1992, 1998, and 2009, and the Aldo Beckman Award in 1991 and 2007. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Washington Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 2009. He is former president of the White House Correspondents' Association. Walsh appears often on national television and radio and gives frequent speeches around the United States, and he teaches as an adjunct in the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C.
He is the author of five books, including Family of Freedom: Presidents and African Americans in the White House (2011), From Mount Vernon to Crawford: A History of the Presidents and Their Retreats (2005), and Air Force One: A History of the Presidents and Their Planes (2003).
A New York City native, Walsh received a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1968 from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and a master's in communication in 1970 from American University in Washington, D.C. Just after graduate school, he spent nearly two years as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Ken Rees (Bristol, England)
Ken Rees brings to the role of destination lecturer over 25 years experience as a world-travelling foreign correspondent. During his career, he has reported extensively from Italy, Greece, and the Middle East. His many news credits include the Lebanese civil war, the first Gulf War, the loss of the space shuttle Challenger, and the sectarian troubles of Northern Ireland. Ken has held almost every job in a television newsroom from scriptwriter, news editor, and reporter to Director of News and Current Affairs. During a 15-year career with Britain’s flagship network program, ITN’s News at Ten, he served as a Senior Foreign Correspondent and spent six years covering the United States from Washington, D.C. In 1986 the Royal Television Society named Ken as Television Reporter of the Year, their highest honor. He now works as a broadcast consultant, trains journalists for TV companies, and writes on travel and world affairs.
Jay Wolff (Naples, FL)
Dr. Jay Wolff took his undergraduate and doctoral degrees at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. A member of the faculty of Florida Gulf Coast University's Renaissance Academy and elected a member of the British Royal Society of Health, he has published more than a hundred articles on history and culture in professional journals as well as American Heritage, Forbes, American Legacy, The Washington Post and The L.A. Times. He has been a commentator on The History Channel and is an enthusiastically received destination lecturer who brings history to life with stories of the people and events that changed the world.
Dr. Thomas D. Jones (Vienna, VA)
Dr. Thomas D. Jones is a scientist, author, pilot, and former NASA astronaut. He holds a doctorate in planetary sciences and, in more than eleven years with NASA, flew on four space shuttle missions to Earth orbit. On his last flight, Dr. Jones led three spacewalks to install the centerpiece of the International Space Station, the American Destiny laboratory. He has spent fifty-three days working and living in space. After graduation from the Air Force Academy, Tom piloted B-52D strategic bombers, studied asteroids for NASA, engineered intelligence-gathering systems for the CIA and, as a NASA contractor, developed advanced mission concepts to explore the solar system.
The Wall Street Journal named Tom’s Sky Walking: An Astronaut's Memoir one of its "Five Best" books on space. He is also the author of Hell Hawks! The Untold Story of the American Fliers Who Savaged Hitler's Wehrmacht and his latest book Planetology, a beautiful new look at the solar system from National Geographic. He writes frequently for Air & Space, Smithsonian, Aerospace America, Popular Mechanics, and American Heritage magazines.
Dr. Jones' awards include the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, four NASA Space Flight Medals, the NASA Exceptional Service award, the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal, Phi Beta Kappa, and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by Kings College, Wilkes-Barre, PA, in 2007. Tom, fresh from three years on the NASA Advisory Council, is currently active in the debate over our nation's future space exploration policy. He appears frequently on television news, commenting on science and spaceflight.
Barbara Rinella (Kenilworth, IL)
Barbara Rinella, a former high school English teacher, has been celebrating literature with her dynamic presentations on current books for many years. A very popular lecturer on Crystal Cruises and throughout the United States, she calls her witty, first person renditions “academic entertainment,” encouraging her enthusiastic audiences to learn and laugh. Barbara graduated from Duke University and holds a graduate degree from the University of Michigan. She has taught high school English in Boston and at New Trier High School in Illinois. She has also served as an elected member of the New Trier School Board, is included in Who’s Who in America, and was honored as a “woman of Distinction” for her contributions to the World of the Arts by the Illinois Girl Scouts.
Jim Rowe (Sabanilla, Costa Rica)
Dr. Jim Rowe holds a Ph.D. in the area of Applied Eco-Psychology and Integrated Ecology. This broad social science encompasses areas of natural ecology, human psychology and cultural history/sociology/anthropology. Jim lives in Costa Rica and Panama where he teaches university level programs in cultural anthropology and natural history with Outward Bound Costa Rica/Panama. He spends much of his free time traveling in Latin America, the Caribbean, Polynesia and the world. His passions include travel, technical rock climbing, white water kayaking, surfing, scuba diving and wakeboarding. Jim is the Executive Director of Outward Bound Costa Rica and Panama where he oversees youth programs that focus on personal and leadership development through study abroad and adventure. His presentations will help you understand the intriguing natural environment and cultures of The Caribbean Basin, Panama, Panama Canal and Costa Rica.

Passport To Music presented by Yamaha and Crystal Cruises: Instructor Elaine Rusk (Ontario, Canada) teaches an innovative and fun course as an introduction to keyboard playing for adults. Tradition and technology meet in harmony to create this progressive piano-style program. With an emphasis on hands-on learning using Yamaha's exciting portable keyboards supported by the Clavinova digital piano, guests learn nearly a dozen songs during the cruise. An overview of general musical skills, including listening skills and note reading is included, as well as fun group activities such as music trivia and name that song. Passport To Music is designed for those with little or no previous keyboard experience.

Kevin Wilson’s experience, artistic flair and creativity have established him as one of Europe’s leading portrait photographers. He has the rare distinction of being a Fellow in all three major photography organizations in the UK - The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP), the Master Photographers Association (MPA) and the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) and uniquely he attained his Fellowship in two separate photographic disciplines - portraiture and wedding photography with the BIPP and MPA.
