Jay Wolff (Naples, FL)
Dr. Jay Wolff took his undergraduate and doctoral degrees at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. A member of the faculty of Florida Gulf Coast University's Renaissance Academy and elected a member of the British Royal Society of Health, he has published more than a hundred articles on history and culture in professional journals as well as American Heritage, Forbes, American Legacy, The Washington Post and The L.A. Times. He has been a commentator on The History Channel and is an enthusiastically received destination lecturer who brings history to life with stories of the people and events that changed the world.

Jack McManus (Manhattan Beach, CA)
Dr. Jack McManus is professor of Education at the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. He teaches courses in public policy and emerging technologies in the doctoral programs in Organizational Leadership and in Learning Technologies. Over the past 37 years, Dr. McManus has served in many capacities at Pepperdine, including director of Computer Services, director of the residential MBA/MIB programs, and interim dean of the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Although working in these administrative positions “has been fun,” Jack has always known that “his passion is teaching.” His current recent research focuses on the impact of social media on educational, corporate and private life. In 2013, Dr. McManus delivered a TED-X talk titled, The Future of Schools: Time to Find Your Metaphor. His lectures on Crystal will focus on “Social Media, Emerging Technologies and You.”
Bill Miller (Secaucus, NJ)
Bill Miller is considered an international authority on the subject of ocean liners and cruise ships. This includes those great ships of the past, those "floating palaces," as well as the current generation of cruise ships, the "floating resorts." Called "Mr. Ocean Liner," he has written over 60 books on the subject - from early steamers, immigrant ships and liners at war to other titles on their fabulous interiors, in post card form and about the highly collectible artifacts from them.
Owen Ullmann (Bethesda, MD)
Mr. Ullmann is an award-winning journalist and author who has covered the White House, Foreign Affairs, Economics and Political Campaigns for more than three decades. He currently is Editor of the print edition of USA TODAY, the top-selling print newspaper in the United States. He has reported from all 50 states and five dozen countries, and has interviewed five U.S. presidents, numerous foreign leaders and other major political and economic decision-makers. Washingtonian magazine has rated him among the "50 most influential journalists" and the White House Correspondents Association has twice honored him for his reporting. The New York Times included his 1986 biography of former White House Budget Czar David Stockman on its recommended non-fiction list. He is the rare Washington journalist who moves easily in both the worlds of presidential politics and global economics.
Rick Staehling (Vancouver, Canada)
Rick Staehling was a film critic at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for over three decades, a radio/television career that began with a review of Alfred Hitchcock’s Family Plot and concluded 34 years later with Toy Story 3. A founding member of the Vancouver Film Critic’s Circle, he has taught communications at the University of British Columbia, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and Capilano University, and lectured on film for Radical Games Ltd., and Corbis Images. After graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, Rick worked behind the camera as a production assistant for The Petersen Company, designed posters for B-movie producer Roger Corman, and wrote, directed, and produced two short and now-forgotten films. Rick has written extensively about movies for Rolling Stone, Vancouver magazine, and numerous Time Inc. publications, and his work has appeared in the anthologies King’s of the B’s: Working Within the Hollywood System and The Final Four of Everything. Staehling has also worked in publishing as a writer/designer and as the editor of Travel Etc., a magazine that regularly covered cruise travel. His work has been recognized by numerous organizations including the National Magazine Awards and the Society of American Travel Writers Lowell Thomas Awards. In 2005, Rick received the Western Magazine Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Passport To Music is designed for those with little or no previous keyboard experience.

The relaxing and social aspects of knitting have been added on select cruises. On this sailing, Gail Ivanco (Kitchener, Canada) will host knitting classes and all levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to knit together sharing skills and advice in a congenial environment. Participation is limited.

Wes Malkin (Hallandale Beach, FL)
Want to take your home movies to the next level and learn how to share them with family and friends? In five entertaining classes, learn how to shoot and edit short movies using an iPad. Improve your video and photo skills. The course is taught by professionals, but aimed at non-professionals.
Course requirements: please bring your own iPad pre-loaded with the iMovie application. If you do not already own the iMovie for iOS app, you must have iOS8 in order to download iMovie from the App Store. If you have an older version of the iMovie app, be sure to update to the current version. You cannot download the app on board the ship. Please sign up online using the Priority Check-in & Planning Center (PCPC). If you sign up on board, make sure to sign up EARLY, in the Library, as the class size is limited.

Our popular Computer University@Sea program: expanded curriculum of complimentary lectures and classes on a variety of computer-related topics, plus e-mail instruction in our computer center, equipped with 25 state-of-the-art workstations, all equipped for e-mail and Internet access (fees apply).
An updated series of 'Everything Apple' courses developed and taught by Professor Stan Leja (Corpus Christi, TX) is again being offered on iPads, iTunes, iWork, iLife, and iCloud. This Apple training provides several different Continuing Education Unit (CEU) granting courses from Del Mar College designed to improve your ability to understand and to use your Apple devices. Each course will contain different in depth lectures and experimentation with various applications on both iPad devices and Apple computers. Social media, photography, music, navigation, communications, business applications, videos, and web surfing with Apple devices will all be covered during different portions of World Cruise 2015. A fee will be charged to attend these courses.
To fully participate in this coursework, you need to come onboard with the following: One iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad v4, iPad mini 3, or iPad mini 2, with the latest iOS installed that has cellular (GPS) capability. Having international cellular data activated prior to joining the world cruise is also required. The latest versions of the following applications need to be downloaded and installed on your iPad prior to joining this voyage: Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iPhoto, GarageBand, iMovie, Dropbox for iPad, GoodReader for iPad, Adobe Photoshop Express, Kindle, MotionX GPS HD, and SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive.
If you have an Apple notebook computer, please bring it with you. On your notebook computer, please make sure it has the latest version of the OS X Yosemite operating system and the latest version of the notebook applications: Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iPhoto, GarageBand, iMovie, Adobe Photoshop 13, and Kindle. If you do not have an Apple notebook computer, you can use the desktops in the CU @ Sea classroom, which will all have the updated required software.
Joe Kita (Schnecksville, PA)
If your family has been bugging you to “write this stuff down!” for years, here’s your chance to finally get started. Joe Kita has authored six books, written for numerous magazines, taught writing at Lehigh University, and appeared on Oprah. Joe has taught memoir writing on six previous Crystal World Cruises, and dozens of his students have published books. In this special course, you’ll learn everything from how to get started to how to find a publisher. Joe will also supply one-on-one coaching throughout the trip, reviewing and critiquing your manuscripts.

Maria Kita is a registered yoga instructor on her seventh Crystal World Cruise. She’ll be teaching Gentle and Energetic classes, plus others with special themes (e.g., yoga for back pain, chair yoga, etc.). Maria is also a registered nurse, and she practices what she preaches. Yoga enabled her to overcome back surgery 13 years ago.
John Clark (Carlsbad, CA)
John has over 35 years experience in the Golf business and became a PGA member in July, 1972. He served his Apprenticeship under the late Tony Novitsky at Columbine Country Club, Littleton, Colorado. Columbine was the Host Club for the 1968 PGA Championship. John is a life member and a Quarter Century member of the PGA of America. John has held positions as an Assistant Golf Professional, Head Professional, Director of Golf and General Manager at Private Country Clubs and a Sheraton Resort. He is currently a PGA Instructor at the SDGA, San Diego Campus. The other SDGA Campus's are located in Phoenix, Myrtle Beach and Orlando.
