General Anthony Zinni (Williamsburg, VA)
General Anthony Zinni is a retired four-star General in the United States Marine Corps and a former Commander in Chief of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). In 2002, he was selected to be a special envoy for the United States to Israel and the Palestinian Authority. While serving as special envoy, Zinni was also an instructor in the Department of International Studies at the Virginia Military Institute. Presently, he is an instructor at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, a public speaker, and an author of two best-selling books on his military career and foreign affairs, most recently Battle for Peace. He also is involved in the corporate world, joining M.I.C. Industries as its president for International Operations in 2005. Zinni also serves on the advisory boards of eight different companies, including the security testing firm, Mu Dynamics, based in Sunnyvale, CA. He joined Duke University's Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy in Spring 2008 as the Sanford Distinguished Lecturer in Residence and taught a new course in the Hart Leadership Program. Zinni has been credited for foresight in predicting the dangers of terrorism coming out of Afghanistan before the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Jim Rowe (Sabanilla, Costa Rica)
Dr. Jim Rowe holds a Ph.D. in the area of Applied Eco-Psychology and Integrated Ecology. This broad social science encompasses areas of natural ecology, human psychology and cultural history/sociology/anthropology. Jim lives in Costa Rica and Panama where he teaches university level programs in cultural anthropology and natural history with Outward Bound Costa Rica/Panama. He spends much of his free time traveling in Latin America, the Caribbean, Polynesia and the world. His passions include travel, technical rock climbing, white water kayaking, surfing, scuba diving and wakeboarding. Jim is the Executive Director of Outward Bound Costa Rica and Panama where he oversees youth programs that focus on personal and leadership development through study abroad and adventure. His presentations will help you understand the intriguing natural environment and cultures of The Caribbean Basin, Panama, Panama Canal and Costa Rica.
Dr. Jay Christofferson (Napa, CA)
Dr. Jay P. Christofferson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from the University of Utah in 1961, a master’s degree in 1964 and Ph.D. in 1970 in zoology from the University of Hawaii. He was employed at California State University, Stanislaus (CSUS) from 1970 to 1996, where he was promoted from assistant professor to professor. He served as the biology department chairman for three years, associate dean of the College of Arts, Letters, and Sciences (ALS) for four years and the interim dean of the College of ALS for two years. He left CSUS to become the dean of the School of Science and Natural Resources at Lake Superior State University, where he served until accepting the position of vice president, academic affairs at the California Maritime Academy, a campus of the California State University system. He retired from this position June 30, 2004.
Loren Schoenberg (Bronx, NY)
A fixture in the jazz world, for his encyclopedic knowledge and his passion for preserving the genre's past while making it eminently contemporary, Loren Schoenberg is the winner of two Grammy Awards for Best Album Notes (most recently in 2004)and author of The NPR Curious Listener's Guide to Jazz. A noted conductor and saxophonist, he has recorded several albums with his own big band, and with Benny Goodman, Benny Carter, and Bobby Short. The Executive Director of The Jazz Museum In Harlem, he is on the faculties of the Juilliard School, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Jazz Aspen Summer Academy.

The relaxing and social aspects of knitting have been added on select cruises. On this sailing, Barbara McNear (Hastings on Hudson, NY) will host knitting classes and all levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to knit together sharing skills and advice in a congenial environment. Participation is limited.

Want to take your home movies to the next level and learn how to share them with family and friends? In five entertaining classes, learn how to shoot and edit short movies using an iPad. Improve your video and photo skills. The course is taught by professionals, but aimed at non-professionals.
Course requirements: please bring your own iPad pre-loaded with the iMovie application. If you do not already own the iMovie for iOS app, you must have iOS8 in order to download iMovie from the App Store. If you have an older version of the iMovie app, be sure to update to the current version. You cannot download the app on board the ship. Please sign up online using the Priority Check-in & Planning Center (PCPC). If you sign up on board, make sure to sign up EARLY, in the Library, as the class size is limited.

Joe Herbert has maintained membership in the PGA for over 35 years, as well as being Life Member and Quarter Century Club member. His experience includes being a Head Golf Professional/Golf Director at exclusive country clubs in Colorado. In addition, during the spring and summer months, he is the Director of Golf Instruction at Arrowhead Golf Club (Golf Digest Top 100 golf courses) in Littleton, CO. During the winter, Joe is the Director of Golf Instruction at the beautiful Classic Golf Club in Palm Springs, CA. Joe hosted the Bob Hope golf tournament from 2006 - 2009. Joe has been honored with the 1997 nomination for PGA Teaching Professional and Junior Golf Leader as well as the 2009/2010 President’s Council Award for Outstanding Golf Instructor of Developing Golf Instruction Programs. He has been featured in 2010 Style magazine during the U.S. Open, and Boomer Golf News for his outstanding teaching abilities. Joe has signed with Southwest Airlines and Swift Air for his golf instructions and DVDs while in the air on WIFI. Recently, due to the large number of requests from his students around the world, Joe released a DVD set, Fundamentals of Golf. Joe considers teaching golf to others to be one of the highlights of his life.
